He has left Genesis, and would like to rejoin SOG.

I would very much see him reinvited, and hopeing we can extend a invite to him asap, even tho the reinvites halted officially the 15...

I'd like that too, but lets agree and then open the invites.

Get the man back.  He's a genuinely fun guy to play with, has the links to the guild, and its another healer who is karazhan ready :D

I'd like to see ducky back in here as well, so no problems from my point of view

But, to have mentioned it: as I briefly said in officer's chat, the reason why I personally think these kinds of things should go through the forum, is that it's something we all should get a chance to get a say in, not only those that are online at the moment when somebody would like to get back in again.
Also in this particular matter, I see it as extra important, as it is past the date we set for how long we would keep invites open for former members. And in addition, as Gorion mentioned in another post: the standard procedure for things like this, is to tell the member, Marduk in this case, that it'll probably be no problem, but he'll just have to wait a day or two to get the formalities through the system.

Since it's a related topic, we should perhaps also consider opening up for invites for friends in general again? Or should we for now just expand the dead-line we originally made?

If it should be the first, you could go back and look at a discussion we had some time back about what application system to use ([post=176010]click meh[/post]). I still think that's the way to go - at least for applications from RL and in-game friends :)

Related to Bob's point: how would you feel if we were to accept as a decision, a thread once a majority opinion from the officers has been achieved?

For example, we have 7 officers, so once 4 have agreed we send out the invite.  Should speed things up.

Its just a suggestion.

As G has signed, and a majority has agreed an invite has been extended and accepted.

My belief, is that when we act upon something, it's not because 4 out of 7 think it's a good idea, but because we have worked out a mutual agreement. If we ever should face a situation where we doesn't manage to do this, than it's time for counting the votes.

Now this is an easy case, I don't think anyone have any problems with Ducky returning. But as a general rule of thumb, I think it's important to give everyone a chance get a say in what we do, small matter or big matter.

And I don't think we'll ever be in a situation that is so urgent that we can't allow it to be on the forum for 24h before we act upon it.

But that's just my :2cents:

Majority vote worked for me, and unless you have regular scedualed chats (TS) it will be hard to make calls over the forum, in this case its eazy, you all know marduk, but when you dont know the player it gets complex.

Live debates on TS / Officer chat (and getting majority of officers to sign on it) where very rare. Mostly ended up making decissions myselfs or with TL's help.

There's enough positive in the forum to conclude the decision and take some action imo.  But then I only consult, not act
