Watched 300 and Hot Fuz yesterday i really enjoyed both films.
 
Hot Fuzz was a great laugh and 300 let me just say WOW, yes it was gorey but my god it was good the action scenes were breathtaking and it had a lot of the effects simular to Sin City.

I haven't seen the trailers or anything about 300 - but presume it's about the stand of the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae.

I hope they haven't 'disney-fied' as they did Troy.

I can't totally remember who wrote the book about the Persian Wars but I think it was Herodotus. His description of the defending of the pass is brilliant and well worth a read - very emotive.

Do they mention the plaque that they had at the pass - 'Go tell the Spartans, passers by we chose to follow orders and die' ... or similar

moving stuff. I  always kinda thought that Gemmell used that as the basis for Druss defending Sken Pass.

Reproduced again and that sucked up most of my remaining time. :lmfao:  Since then we've been working on the house, playing guitar, taking pictures, playing BF2 almost exclusively when I do play games, lost my three remaining grandparents (1 in Nov, 2 this month), etc etc.  RL just got in the way really.  Plus I finally noticed the  "New Posts" link on the forum and since I didn't see it when the forums first transitioned and I couldn't browse in that fashion, I gave up.  Now that I've found that, it makes keeping up easier.

Anyway, life in general has been good.
