I played on MH last night (Sat 1705) and we had a visitor from the USA (DMW)ICE who obviously didn't know the boundries of the maps we were playing, I know it's an individuals responsibility but there is a lot to remember on you first visit. However Sadako and BlueBall took him under their collective wing and walked him round some of he maps (with the agreement of the other players I hasten to add). I know this wouldn't be practical on a full Server. I just thought it deserved comment on the way things were handled and which eventually led to ICE contributing to a most enjoyable night.
In all the above there was a positive response from ICE to everything he was told which is always necessary for the Admins to function effectively and for everyone to enjoy the game. Well done =dMw=

Thanks Brass. Yes it was a most enjoyable night and ICE was very quick on getting the rules. The guy played without sound but still did very well.

The walkthrough me and BB did on both Rio and Inferno (with all talk on) is always a good thing even for regulars. It is easy to forget some boundaries on complex maps as e.g. Rio. The problem to do this with a full server isn't really so big. I have actually done it twice (in January this year after TL's "My New Years resolution" forum post that attracted many new players). If we do it on the first round of a map with all talk on it usually don't take more than 2-3 minutes to get it done. Most ppl get it really quickly because of all the standard maps in our rotation. I think it is worth the effort.

Thanks for the thanks. Glad ICE enjoyed himself. CS is hard enough but to play it without sound? Yeuch! He deserves a medal in my book. Hope he comes back, he's got a good attitude and fitted in well.

And just to say full servers are no probs as long as those on the server are prepared to give up a couple of minutes of their time (we can always kick em if they won't ;-))
