I saw in the public progress thread that yesterday's run to Karazhan went pretty well! Nice work all :D
Can't wait to join you when I'm done with my exams in a week and a half!

Anyone got any details about the raid? Group setup? Screen shots? Loot?

They got the first threee bosses down:

Attumen
Moroes
Maiden of Virtue

Awesome job!  Next stop is the Opera Event, then on to the Curator who drops the first item of Tier 4 armor.

Well done all, excellent job!

I think class balance was pretty nice also:
1 shadow priest
1 fire mage
2 warlocks
1 hunter
3 pallys
1 druid
1 dps warrior, who tanked more than dps'ed :narnar:

That was it if my math worked. And it went really smooth! We can take opera even pretty easy I think, well depending on which event it is. But I have faith in all of you :)

I think there might be an overstock on one item, possibly!

Heh, but the pallies were their only healing class :) From my experience on horde-side, Pallies are the best healers out there. Their mana-efficiency might not be great, but our Pallies are always at the top of the healing meters. We generally take 1 Holy Pally and 2 Resto Shammies to Kara, and don't both with any holy priests (at least 1 goes as shadow though).

And if you can down Moroes then any of the Opera events should be dead easy to be honest. We found Moroes to be far and away the hardest boss up to Curator (our 2nd team is working on Curator at the mo, but we don't quite have the class balance or gear regularly yet).

EDIT: Forgot that dr00ds could heal too, as ours is generally an offtank. 20k HP and armour FTW!

The first run into Karazhan went alot better then expected with 3bosses killed

The group setup was Warrior and Druid as tanks, 3Pallies and Shadowpriest as healers and 1mage, 2warlocks and a hunter as DPS.

First death came about 1hour after the run started and after the first boss was killed. There were a couple of wipes when clearing to Moroes and 1wipe to moroes before we killed him(nasty combination of adds Holy Priest, ret pally and both warriors). Some more Wipes to trash on our way to Maiden. We wiped twice on maiden after 2horrible starts but getting her below 50% and 25% even though we had the horrible starts. Third try we had 1death early and he got battleressed else it went very smooth.

Loot was a little disapointing seeing as both Druid healing gear(i took it) and a druid moonkin gear(DEed) dropped and most of the other loot was Physical Damage gear so only 2-3people showed interest in any of the loot. Though the people that got loot are most certainly glad with it :D.
Only complain I have with the run was that it went a little slow at times with slow starts after rebuffing and the pulls could maybe have been a little faster.

Next run will be tomorrow if we have enough interest(that is both Gorion and Nefertem need to be there seeing as Shadowspell is working).
Seeing as there is such a short notice of time i will not be making a pure sign up for this run but i will ask people to post in this thread if you are able to attend. Also some of the DPS will be rotated so we will not be going with exactly the same group, this is just to let more people experience the place but i will neither rotate everyone out just because we got a replacement for all. The Sign up site should be ready for the next run(Sunday, sorry Neffles :D).

If this run goes forward it will focus on the Opera event and if we do get past the Opera event the Curator(Tier4 gloves). If we manage to kill both and still have time we will try Netherspite though i really doubt this will happen. I am hoping i can get a mage to run in and use invisibility to check what Opera event we got.

PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU CAN ATTEND THE RAID TOMORROW

Quote from: Carr0t;190388H Their mana-efficiency might not be great, but our Pallies are always at the top of the healing meters.

Last time i checked Pallies are the most mana effective healer with 2.64healing per mana without stats added to the flash heal. i was averaging about 1500health per 180mana last night so 8.33health per mana point. Also i crit about 18%(24 if holy light) of my heals wich means they cost no mana.
Pallies are clearly the best healer in the game at the moment and will still be even though they are nerfing the mana back from crits.
But we have some major drawbacks as healers also, we have no group heal, we have only 1instant heal that is on a 15sec cooldown and heals half of what flash heal does and we have no Healing over time spells. Lastly some info from Vargens experience as a tree(it wasn't enough for him to hug them). He usually tops the healing meters during trash but falls far behind the paladins on bosses, this is because trash isn't nearly as mana intense as bosses and he can spam HoTs on every target that is loosing health.
