They removed the attunement requirements for Serpent Shrine and The Eye. You can still do the quests if you want though.

Here is the statement from the official post (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=110637185&sid=1) :

Quote from: BlizzardAfter a lot of thought and deliberation, we’ve decided to remove the attunement requirements to enter Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep: The Eye. While many of our attunements in the Burning Crusade have been good progression checks, a few of the attunements have turned out to cause unnecessary stress on guilds either doing the content or attempting to do the content. With Black Temple and Battle for Mount Hyjal thriving, we want to encourage (rather than prevent) new guilds and raid groups to attempt Serpentshrine and TK. We are going to leave the current attunement quests in the game so that players can still engage in the challenge and the lore of those quests should they choose to. At a later point, we are considering adding a final reward step to those quests as well (that way those who have already completed them would not miss out on a *new* reward).

We’re listening to feedback from you guys constantly and your opinions are important to us. We want this game to be the best possible MMO experience for our players.

Enjoy Serpentshrine and Tempest Keep =)

Edit: Thanks for moving.

Well, I can't see that this is anything but a good thing for us - for when we at some point get so far that it will be sensible to start those instances :)

I'll probably end up doing all the quests anyhow, as I'm aiming to have cleared every single quest in Outland. But nice to not have to stress with it to get attuned!

Serpentshrine attunement isn't that bad and you really should finish the prereq. before entering. You need to kill the first boss in Heroic SP, then kill Gruul and Nightbane and then kill the first boss in Heroic SP.

Yes, it's a good idea to try and do them anyway before starting. Once everyone is able to do the pre-quests you should be ready for the instance.

But it's nice that they removed the requirement in any case. It can be pretty stressfull for a raid group if they need to wait for the last few people to get attuned. Besides, you won't have to do it over and over for all your alts now.

The loss of attunement is good & bad.  It sucks for those that pout the effort in to doing it and it will mean that the natural gear checks in place of the current system are removed, so there will be some mismatching.  However, it also makes it a damn sight easier for guilds and that has to be a godo thing.

I would stress that there is still a natural progression to these bosses.  Removing the attunement does not mean they have been nerfed and there is therefore a huge amount of sense in completing them in some sort of order.  The order I see them in atm (ignoring BT & MH) is about this:

Start KZ
>Gruul's Lair
>Magtheridon/Easier SSC bosses/Void Reaver (The Eye)
>Main SSC bosses up to Vashj
>Rest of The Eye up to Kaelthas
>Vashj
>Kaelthas

And there has to be a good collection of heroics going on all the time in the early phase to make sure people have some decent epic gear to fill those slots where they have not yet had better drops.

Well, as of now, I'm about half-way (I guess) with the quests in Blade's Edge. And I've only done a very few quests in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon due to some quests lines I needed to finish...

So I guess I'll have something to do for some time still :)

Yep, still need my Hellfire key too. I'm up for some SH runs during weekend. But I'll help out with SL runs as well if you need me, the sooner we get people keyed the better :) .
