What's happened to politics?

Is it me or is apathy well and truly back again in British politics?

1) Brown might not be as bad as everyone thought, at least he's keeping a fairly clever political thought process going on with his new cabinet, (getting Harriet Harman as deputy labour leader is a perfect example of how ineptitude can be expertly sidelined so that it still feels useful),

2) Cameron losing his way, although Davies' defection was a bit of a joke, looking at his views, what he was ever doing in the Conservative party I don't know...

3) Lib Dems'  head not sure what the body is doing (will we/won't we get involved with labour)

And no one really seems to care?

Massive military contract backhanders from BAE systems swept under the carpet without a whisper.

A leader responsible for:

     a) A shambles of a war
     b) The decline of our Armed Forces
     c) A patent ignoring of "Education education education" (see the independant think tank report recommending more private schools and grammar schools as they are the only current effective means of education),
     d) An effective income tax burden increase under various guises to around 50% of income and assorted other taxes (crippling inheritance tax and the intoduction of stamp duty anyone?)
     e) Rocketing house prices

is allowed to fade quietly into the sunset?

Where are the howls of outrage at the ineptitude of this Government, its failure to deliver on its promises, and the complete failure of any sort of credible opposition to emerge and capitalise? Rory Bremner was a more pointed and effective critique of Labour than any political force in the last 10 years...

Right rant over, sorry...

I am not as skilled in British politics, but... did Blair do such a bad job - more overall? I am not insinuating, I am asking you.

Brown and Cameron - both obvious practisioners of less clever popular politics, making their steps to increase popularity more obvious?

I support the conservatives in principle, due to the fact, Labour is all spin and Lib Dems couldn't form an effective government atleast not till they get their act together.
Problem with Britsh Politics is everything is Spin, Tony Blair introduced it in it's modern form and Gordon Brown is copying.
Notice how for the first cabinet meeting people came in 2 by 2, and left in small photographable groups too?
Notice how he didn't name the cabinet he's had weeks to prepare on the day he took power, but the day after for extra headlines?
I accept that and don't trust anything they say directly without looking deeper, but how can Cameron be so bad at managing the press that he can't even get any airtime what so ever (you occasionally hear the odd line quoted but he's rarely on tv for interview).
It's looking like another term of the labour spin machine after this one judging by the way the media acts. How will the public pick up on the governments mistakes when the opposition stay quiet and the press treat the public like children.

(Yes Blair did a bad job, illegal war, cash for honours, NHS in the dumps, and loads more...all ignored by the press when his wife says "don't think we'll miss you" and it gets played on a loop rather that a genuine reflection...and that was BBC news. Notice how keep Blair was about Europe at first (going for the presidents job) and then when that didn't work out he's best pals with America (and mysteriously gets offered a job))

Politics is a mess, I should stop caring. Garh

Did Blair kill Dr Kelly ?
(Iraq has WMD)
Should a civil servant be named and made public scape goat for a governments decision to go to war ?
Some say this was his worst moment, as i remember it he effectively named an individual, who then committed suicide.:eyebrow:
