Oh and the servers are in London, not the USA so an advantage at last over the US players.

One month free on game purchase and :

1 Month = $12,95
3 Months = $35,85
6 Months = $65,70

Never really tried these MMORPGs anyone tried this type of thing before?

Gandy and i both play Earth and beyond which is cool. Gandy is becoming rather l33t. i on the other hand specialize in dieing as much as possible. Good fun game though. Eve is supposed to be much more indepth (E&B isnt entirely simple) so if you are into a very complicated game Eve is the one for you. Me? well i like to stare out of the window and dribble.

Oh yeah, if your interested in playing this sort of game it is essential to give up any sort of life, it takes hours and hours to work your way up the ranks.  (E&B has 150 levels, shared equaly between explore, trade and combat, which gain you promotions and hull upgrades, and points which you can spend on upgrading various skills, dependant on race incl. uprated shields, engines, reactors, equipment etc. ) Its not always exactly high paced with endless trade runs and the like but the combat is rather cool. You have never lived untill you go to battle against 50 red dragon pirates.  :D

Eve however according to what i have been told is demanding in its intricacy, you have to have you finger on the pulse all the time. Not for the laid back. But what would i know i havnt even seen it.  / dribble

I played Everquest and it was utter pish (in my humble opinion). Start out a s a whimp. Wander round empty fields. Kill a few rats. Kill a snake. Level up. Wander round empty fields. Kill a few rats. Kill a snake. Level up. Wander round empty fields. Kill a few rats. Kill a snake. Level up. Wander round empty fields. Kill a few rats. Kill a snake. Level up..................................

Eve may well be a whole different bucket of frogs though  :?:

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Word is that Eve is a very compelling experience.  Good forum on the home page gives an idea.  I have thought about getting this a few times but am kind of swaying towards saving those monthly payments should Star Wars Galaxies ever come out.  Now there is a game to lose yourself in.

I would avoid E&B.  I love freelancer, wing commander, freespace et al, but not this game.  For one I couldn't stand the combat in E&B.  You didnt aim, it was just press fire until you or enemy is dead.  Basically whoever had better powers and / or bigger guns won each time.  Not good
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

The thing with e&b is not the combat (based on dice rolls, so no skill involved other than using different tactics to take them down) or the constant levelling, its the storyline.

It has a deep, involved, constantly evolving story, and things are about to kick off in a big way. War is coming :)

But then, you either love this sort of thing, or hate it. Personally I'm in for the story, and the community is one of the friendliest there is. Having some great laughs just trying to take on a pack of mobs five levels above you when half your group are smoking wrecks. Fun.
