Tonight Marduk made the following comment to someone who went past the signs

this is NOT a FFA server You nob, it Tactical server

I sent him a private chat message saying "Don't be abusive, it's not nice"

He then left the server and sent me a message on Friends, I missed the first bit ( I said something like 'you shouldn't say things like that, it's not whats expected from someone wearing the dMw tags') but:

He says he won't be playing with the tags on anymore which is fine as we don't want people being abusive with the dMw tags on.  I have removed his Mani Admin access, should his status be changed to Alpha?

EDIT:  He's even posted about it in the forum.  I've put in a reply and closed the thread.

I made a post on his thread, which you can see. By the time I'd finished typing, there were more posts which, if they'd been there I would not have got involved. Now, having read your post Whitey, I realise that I should keep my nose out!

I couldn't believe the reaction I got from him.  All I was expecting was "OK" and what I got instead was :ranting2:

I was really enjoying the games last night as well.  Went to bed feeling terrible :crying:

To make matters even worse after closing the thread, he contacted me again saying it was admin abuse.  I was simply trying to stop him posting something that he would have regretted when he woke up, the last thing I wanted was for it to turn into a flame war.

That kind of response to an Admin is not acceptable and it could have been better phrased on the server for sure.  If he is not happy to wear the wings then by his choice demote him.  However I would give him a day or two to sleep on it before confirming anything.

In my experience Marduk's moods can swing wildly so his behaviour can be everything from 'fanatastic' to 'err, what happened there'.  Looks like you got the latter.  I do not know details, but I do know that Marduk suffers from some health problems and these defintely seem to affect his responses to people and situations.  Marduk is Bastet's brother, so I'm sure Bastet could throw some comments on this too.

I'd rather not see him demoted but at the same time we don't want people going around calling people names.  I'll give it a few days and see if he changes his mind, but if he maintains the stance that he will continue to call people names, I see no option but to demote him.

He seams to be a tad down lately, he managed to fail his year due to health issues and went to see all his classmates graduate this week.
 
His reactions vary quite wildly, he can have a bit of a short fuse, which is amplified lately w/ doctors feeding him crap. The recent year of muck really didnt help his behaviour online :sad:.
 
I will not involve myselfs in this call, and will not take any action on prompts from him. I trust Whitey to make the right call.

PS, i seen a harsher wording through remote admin, from nearly all admins, senior and junior. Which offcourse does nothing to mitigate his response to Whitey.
