ok sugar lumps, hook me up.

My PC is back....and stable....needs more memory but its coming.

NF whatever rev 2 board, old ath1400+ proc until next month, and a radeon 9500pro.

counterstrike locks my system.....only when I go to load a game. Everything else works, goddam piece o crap.

pron works, music works, films work, and what settings should I use in this mf, trilinear what? multi texturing who?

come on help me out...the sooner I work...the sooner you get pron.

Update your sound card drivers.

Open Display Properties & select the OpenGL tab. Set Buffer Flipping Mode to Block Transfer.

Take up tennis :wink:

ok gents, I'm back in the hood tomorrow night/Tues morning.

The problem is.....

I hook up CS and it all loads fine. I get that annoying thing where the menu stays put so I have to esc out then resume to start with a clear screen.

When I escape out it dies. the whole PC.

nothing else installed apart from hitman2 and that works fine.....so you'll have 48 hours tops, or I'm gonna go to Smites, let him take pictures of me annd post them in these forums..........the clock is ticking.

Is it just Cs that crashes? Or is it more 3d stuff?

it does sound just like the problem i had afetr upgrading, my psu was weedy small in that case (300w).

Just CS, Hitman runs fine.

Gonna install MOH tomorrow see if that dies. Someone did mention an incompatability between radeon and CS......

and the PSU is a brand spanking 550W which definitely is sound. I tried it on my nips and it worked fine. :oops:

I use a radeon 9700 and have no problems, although you do get graphical glitches in other games. Normally solved by updating the drivers and installing the ATI control panel (worked for me on Splinter Cell and Freelancer)

Big downloads though if you haven't got broadband (6mb each)

Nips is one way, but can lead to nasty burns and then chaffing if you wear tight T-Shirts. I'd try using a multi-meter, it's a lot less painfull.

I get the "press ESC playing Half-Life and your entire PC croaks" error with my 9700 Pro

Yes TL, but I've stabbed the Esc instead of tilde and locked up my entire PC more than a few times and its quite annoying (did it during an FA match once, /me bangs head on desk)
