I just got a hand-me-down sat-nav from my dad, he got one as soon as they did full postcode searches and then upgraded as soon as he saw one built it's a phone without a folding ariel.
Anyway, 99% of the time I don't go anywhere I need a satnav but have got lost I London, Oxford and Leicester (to name but a few) due to appauling road systems (especially Leicester) combined with me not knowing where I was heading having never been there. So I accepted the gift, but I was just wondering does anyone know any good applications to put on it so I can use it for more than just Satnav (which I'll only use occasionally)

It's a Mio 168, which is a pure PDA with built in GPS (running AA navigator, but that can be changed if there's better...but I prefer it to TomTom having used that alot on my dads), and conectivity wise it only has IR, and connects to usb wia a wierd connector while charging. It Runs Pocket PC 4.2. I've got a WiFi SD card for it for internet. But the only worthwhile thing I've thought of putting on is Sudoko.

Any suggestions are welcome, and free programs are even more welcome but I don't mind buying good ones.

if its windows based.. unsure to be fair then i have tomtom 5.5 with every conceivable map in the world.. and two gigs worth of programs and can stick them on my ftp server (obviously this being a legit website they will be for testing purposes only before you go out and pay for the software)
Are you going to come quietly, or do I have to use earplugs?

That'd be cool, especially if the names are a straightforward description what the software does, cause if there are 2 gigs it might be a while till I can find something I want to install if I have to google everything.

As for Palm combatibility, I doubt it does, but if someone has written a program for Palm they might have a very similar one for the Windows Pocket PC. So feel free to mention any programs you like on the Palm and I'll hopefully be able to find a windows equivalent.

Thanks guys

You'd probably have a heart attack if you could see my room now. I mean it's not "that" bad, you can see about 10% of the floor (aslong as you look under the bed aswell). My desk at the moment has my HL2 Case, UT2004 Case 2 HDD that I don't intend to use, 3 spindles of disks, a powerball, the bioshock case, my mobile, car stereo front, some vented ear plugs, mp3 player, ipod video (different from the mp3 player), the case for my old archos jukebox with my sat-nav in, wallet, keys, sun glasses, all the chords for all the songs I've played for gigs recently (on crumpled paper - not even in a pile spread across desk) my old x850xt and a stanley knife.
(that most of it, I've a few physics books and remote controls too but they're almost neatly arranged.)

It's going to be completely clean by Monday though as I'm throwing a week long house party, and people are going to be coming from all over and need a place to stay. So all is good.

Anyway, can you message me the details for access to the ftp server, I'm anxious to get stuck into trying out apps and games.
