Was talking to Crys in gchat after the raid, and he's very unhappy. The raid had gone badly, and he was saying he wasn't going to raid on Tuesday.
 
Furthermore he was unhappy with how Cannonball (a mate of his) had been treated. Said he was told he was sitting out of the raid in a rude way. The implication was that Cannonball had been told his gear was not good enough - and that G who had become available was replacing him on that basis.  Secondly he feels Cannonball was lied to.
 
I told him that Cannonball should have been told he was being replaced as he was still an initiate.
 
Seeing Crys this angry folks, maybe makes me think he's feeling the pressure. From what I can gather the healing was not that hot tonight, and with people whispering about his effectiveness, maybe he's a little raw. I like the guy, he's dependable and loyal, and I don't want to see him leave. Maybe we should back down a bit and give some praise and encouragement?

I think yes to the encouragement and help - but you also have to remember that he has received a *lot* of help (from me included, along with free crafting and cloth manufacture) and this has failed to improve his healing performance significantly.  So yes encourage and applaud, but we also need not delude ourselves as to someone's actual level of performance.

As for Cannonball, it is documented in a different thread and I suspect that there is a large element of 'rose-tinted spectacles' in his comments which mean that I would tend to completely ignore them and perhaps inform him of what *actually* happened, just so he knows and is not led down the garden path by his 'friend'.

he is always this way after a very bad raid.. i always try to help him however possible, i sent him some mana pots aswell,
 
i offered to help with money and reagents, he didnt take it.  what else can we do to help this guy out? go to his home and play his character..?
 
i like him too, i did all hellfire with the guy, and some other zones, i introduced him to dailys so he can make money, i helped him get the ogrila prequests done aswell..
 
we were close to calling it at moroes, and at maiden yesterday. honestly yesterdays raid sucked balls, and we made idiots out of ourselves infront of blackmetal and daedalus,  i even payed the repair bill of daedalus so it doesnt look that bad

Why did things go so bad yesterday? Did we lack some central people, did some of the new folks suck? Or was it only that people weren't focusing?

If somebody has a pretty good picture of what happened, it might be worth putting it all down in writing and try make a constructive post out of it, to put in the member's section.

sheepy survived 1-2 stairs pulls in total, tanks were dying,
 
crystaline had problems keeping up shackle at moroes, resulting in him dying then a chain reaction leading to a quick wipe,  at maiden someone pulled maiden off me after a couple of seconds after the pull, managed to recuperate, and died after a while, after gjis gained aggro, he died aswell then we wiped.
 
most of us ran back, till someone pulled maiden via a res (ignoring the raid leaders command to run), after that we managed to kill maiden, opera went good.  at curator gjis was tanking and i was on dps with blackmetal, flares were going down quickly, tank died, i managed to aggro, then we wiped.
 
curator try 2: same thing, but we told deadalus to focus on the tank, and crys + dreaman on the party, i died and the rest followed, raid was called

SOG healing in form of dreamen and crystaline isnt too hot, and with Marduk and Spiritus off yesterday (holiday/illness)...
 
Basicly your paladins are pulling the healing through, bobby is doing very well for himself now that hes gearing up a bit.
 
Tbh, if i where you lot, id have crystaline respec shadow, which he desperately wants, and search for a decent healer. Cause you sure as hell aint got one atm.

As far as my healing goes, another couple of drops and I'm up there with Spiritus in terms of potency. The only thing I lack is heroic keys - can't face getting them all in place AGAIN.

I've briefly mentioned this before, but it can be repeated: I strongly believe that every officer should use some kind of add-on that logs your conversations. I started using WIM (don't really know of any other) almost a year ago, and now I can't imagine how I would manage without it (because of the IM-like interface, not cause of the logging - but the logging has proved handy as well). It can be downloaded either from the wiki-page I just linked, or from Curse.

I have mine configured to log every whisper-conversation for one month, which should be more than enough to cover up for any disputes that might show up. This way, we will always have solid proof if members (or who it might be) say they have been treated badly in one way or the other.

Btw, on crystaline, sheepy and me had some conversations with him, and had some good feedback. He had a lot of conflicting advice, and is totaly confused how to heal, i send him to talk to Lunares about it, who was happy to help. Also, please lets stick to only giving advice or critism when its actualy any good, too much of either will give the idea he cant do anything good and depress him.
 
Anyhow had some good chats, he seams better now, and looking up again. I recon its gonne be fine.

i said to crys that i would look in to a bit of theorycrafting and a bit of sepcs etc for priests and he seemed happy with that.

Also told him that i enjoed his participation in raids and that it was noted that he was putting in effort

A lot of what I've noted recently in the commander's channel has been negative towards him.  Playing a priest is thankless task - difficult class to make useful as a healer, cloth wearing, high aggro rates etc. and yet when Crys has the support of two other capable healers, he does well.  
 
Maybe it might be worthy putting our attention towards Dreaman and helping him contribute more?

actually, with the few raids he joined, hese getting better at it, last raid he was quite close to crystal, his overhealing was ok too, while crystals was around 48%

Shaman healing absolutely rocks.  We had a blue-geared resto shaman join us a couple of weeks back and a week later with only Kara epics he came second in an SSC raid on our healing meters.

Put a resto shammy in the same group as a shadow priest and your mages/destro locks/boomkins/BM hunters and your ranged DPS soars.
