World in Conflict

Great game - I like RTS but this isn't your average RTS and may appeal to those who like more action.

This rts differs as there is no resource collecting and unusually you are just controlling a small company of units amongst an ongoing war ie there are allied units controlled by the AI fighting alongside you - this frees you up to concentrate more on your fighting and tactics.

The graphics are immense especially if you have DX10 (which I don't but its still excellent)

With a scroll of your mouse button you can go from your typical RTS overhead camera position to a BF2 fps perspective (and the graphics are better than bf2)

Multiplayer looks good though I haven't tried it yet as I'm still playing the excellent single player campaign - Alec Baldwin of FAG fame doing the voice over.


If your not into RTS due to the resource management stuff give this a try - its all about tactics and fighting - when your units die you simply choose which reinforcements you want to replace them. SP is a bit easy but I'm looking forward to the MP where you can play 4 vs 4 with each person taking control of either armour/infantry/air power/tactical weapons

I downloaded the demo and did the tutorial a few weeks ago.

Looks good, took me far too long to destroy enemy armoured column in the tutorial.

Haven't really done much with it after playing a bit of the first level, but thats just because I haven't played much of anything recently.

Looks nice and polished.

Hi Lib,

Haven't heard from you in ages you can wipe out armoured columns easily in game if you have apaches or artillery.

This game is going to rock in MP - all the BIG guys will have it so if anyone wants to play a MP game that would be cool.

Everyone who buys this game gets a disc with a ten day trial version on... it might be a good idea for us all to bring them to the LAN so people who dont have it yet can give it a crack.
