Would you guys mind updating your equipment lists? Cheers :)

Both the kids have new PCs arriving for christmas (courtesy of a recent Boffer), so I will be getting F@H running on those again a day or so after when they are properly connected.  I'm afriad my main PC is not running F@H at all atm, I have had such an awful year for hardware issues that I am loathe to run anything on the PC that is not absolutley necessary as I rely on it for my business work.  So apologies for slacking, but hopefully there should be some new GHz coming very shortly.

Well, I've disabled my CPU folding and moved into the realm of GPU folding using a Powercolor ATi HD4670 1GB

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

ok, in the right thread

1x c2d e6600 @ 3.4 4gb ram cpu folding with a gtx 275 896MB gpu folding

That would be wicked!

Mine is likely to drop in a couple of weeks as I'm moving to a new flat where I will be paying all the bills for electric etc.  Currently I pay an all inclusive rate which means my two PC's can be on 24/7.

Hopefully I will get back into foldong after a fast start.  Been a bit busy lately.

1. Q9550 @4 gig and a 4870 X2 Cpu client and gpu client.
2. C2d @3.6 and hopefully a 275 for gpu client only

Both these should be good for around 400 points an hour when running oh and a ps3 when I switch it on.

So when I get sorted hopefully will add around 8000 - 10000 a day!! :D

:crying: Just need to get organised and get new gfx for work machine number 2.

My 3.2 GHz Q6600 puts out around 2600 ppd, if run 24/7 so that 4GHz quad of yours should really kick ass - something like 3500 ppd!

Penfold

Same as previous just add in 3 GPU's folding.

OK - so I added GPU folding with 8800GT on my c2d @3.6 GHz pc.....running both cpu and gpu folding 24/7 (except when I'm running LFS). Still running the c2d @ 3.0 GHz on my son's pc 24/7.  He has a  Radeon 4850 gpu so may do some gpu folding there too.

And whoaaaa - that gpu folding cranks  - really seeing an  increase in productivity! And was surprisingly easy to get going.

Well after about a week of down time due to a fried 8800GT gpu, i'm back in action temporarily with a ATI Radeon 4850.....Hope to replace that soon when I figure out what new gpu to get.  Thinkin' about a nVidia GTS 250 or maybe GTX 260..... but for the 260 I'd have to get a new psu as the 260 and up require 2 x 6-pin supplementary power connectors .... more bucks :g:

Interesting to compare the 8800GT with the 4850 in the same system.  Not news - but the 4850 is doing about 1/2 the ppd (2,000 v 4000).  But more interesting - I can't really run the cpu folding client with the 4850 folding -> both cpu cores stay at 100% and performance on anything else is hurt badly.  Even without cpu folding the 4850 uses over 50% of both cores (nothing else running).  Didn't have that problem with the 8800GT.

Anyway, as the 4850 does actually give an improvement in LFS performance, so I'm not in a big hurry to choose a new gpu.  But sooner or later it has to go back in my son's pc
