I have a oil-fired combi boiler that heats the rads and hot water for my house, heating 13 rads.
There is no Water tank anywhere, other than small one contained in boiler itself.

I'm going to be getting a multifuel stove and am thinking about what it would take to connect to current system to also heat rads (not tap water).

Anyone have experience with this, or what things I need to look into?
I think I need some sort of neutralizer to connect the two, but don't know much more than that.

That sounds like a big job. I guess you're not planning on taking the easy option of just having the New system run the radiators and keep the combi boiler for hot water?

P.S 13 Radiatiors, thats one big house you have (or very well heated rooms)

I would imagine it could be done, although it may be complicated.

you'll need to connect the systems in such a way so as to have the pump working when the combi is off...or have 2 pumps.

Whether you can find a suitable plumber is another matter.

good luck, and I'd be interested to know what you finally decide although I'm betting you'll find it too much bother.:)

Edit: This is an interesting thread, and may be worth a read.

Edit2: neutralizer and some more info

Didn't think of that, but did consider heating part of the house with Boiler, other with Stove.

I've been told that the heat output of a stove without a water jacket gives off amazing heat and I could exoect it to filter through the house.
Might be my easiest option.

Re newbuilder, yup found that, and the neutralizer stuff.

My multi-burner has a back boiler that we don't use.
It gives off great heat too.

just remember NOT to block the supply/return pipes or you'll be sitting next to a bomb.

Does the heat spread through the house quite well?

Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) based system. Gives you both heat and electricity. Worth taking a look at.
