Lets not get hung up about ranking, after 1 week of play, you will have all the toys you cold ever want.

Another option is to set "Old School Mode" In Old School Mode everyone starts with bugger all at the start of the map and you earn upgrades as you play. I think it allows you to gain rank points as you play (so that people can rank on a decent server) but it levels the playing field with regard to what weapons people have access to. I'll see if I can find out more.

I like a decent rank, what about Charly or Senior Admin it's not a rank then? :devil:

Should there be no-one on our server, people would like to play on another server and if they are still low rank there, what's the point in having a "ranked" server? :flirty:
 
And to be honoust, I like ranking in games and I reckon most people do...

Our BF2 server suffered by not being ranked. We won't make that mistake again with CoD4.

Having investigated further I don't think Old School mode is for us - it's more like quake with guns lying around to be picked up - struggled to find a server to try (i know why now) and when I did I stayed about 1 min, killed four guys then got kicked for no reason :blink:

Must say that I do appreciate OldSchool mode more.
Otherwise you shoot someone and they just keep walking while getting shot...

But on a more serious note my PC won't play CoD4. :doh:

So my pending upgrade looks like it is now a more pressing need (touching cloth?)
 I'll need to check my finances at the end of the month to see if I can afford to splash out £1.2k for a new PC and screen.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.
