I noticed that this section of the forums doesn't see as much "action" as some of the other more glamourous parts. But I just wanted to suggest that with this ladder that there be a more flexible group for people like me who are not organised enough or reliable enough to form part of a standard group. Just have 10 or so members who play often but not reliably. And like subs, when a game is played just pick from them till a team is filled.
It could ween people into playing matches more, if they get used to it...and if not it's another team to join in.

It seems a reasonable idea but I could see it being a right pain for whoever the SL is as they would need to get a team together every two weeks.

Benny

It does sound reasonable, I think the only way it could work is for teams to issue an open challenge for a set date / time, then the first 4 people to respond get to play.

How about we leave the setup as is but just increase the numbers in the teams to 5 or 6 - four of which are the standard team as is and the 5th / 6th one has to be from the subs' pool?

Yeah, that works...gets people playing matches that wouldn't before and if there aren't enough people then it just goes back to the ordinary game it was before. My guess is there are plenty of people who'd be up for the odd game but can't join a team.

It would bring more ppl to the matches for sure, but I cannot help but fancy the idea of sticking with permanent teams. I enjoy the building up of the team work and team playing style as we have done (spots, weapons favorites, discussing our style compared to the challenge etc.) and it is not as fun if you have a randomness factor of subs joining... but that is just a tiny rant, with subs it would still be a blast playing the matches :D

This is not a bad idea. We could enter a team called "subs" that challenge the team above or below say every thursday or sunday to get fixed times. Then the first 4 subs that sign up play the match.

I think T bag is right there are a few players out there that missed the inaugural ladder Set up, but have expressed a desire to join in since.

Teams of 5 or 6 sounds good and the SL rotates it a bit so everyone gets a go, could also be a good place to coach any new dMw members.

Can new teams be set up and organised? I know that it would be difficult as the ladder started ages ago, but thought it might encourage the newly signed players to join in? maybe keep a tally of the number of matches played?
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

Yes, new teams are always welcome.  Just get 4 people together and contact Pen or myself. :)

Maybe a sticky "join the ladder!"-post in the ladder section explaining how easy it is to get to play? :g:Or maybe just explain that the ladder is NOT closed?
