Good job tonight guys. If we had real flasks, we would've downed him no problem. Estimated that we were around 2-5k hp left on that oversized hogger.

Just been looking through the WWS logs for the night and I thought the following might help in your efforts to find that FINAL 1% to kill Gruul next week.  So in order of class listing from the logs here's where you'll find that 1%:

Rogues
Add some +hit gems.  Neither of you are hit capped atm and adding some HR gems to the cap would improve your DPS by about 10% minimum on white damage alone.

Mages
Like rogues, try to gem some HR into your gear - you miss 5-10% of all spells cast, so that's a free DPS increase if you improve your HR.  And Mzltof - help out on scorch!

Warlocks
Same story - add more +hit to your gear.  I know you might have an affliction talent that gives up to +10% HR, but shadow bolt is actually producing a vast amount of your total damage and you are missing 10-20% of all shadowbolts cast - that's massive extra dps if they actually get to hit the boss!

Hunters
Take care not to clip your auto-shots or you lose all that white damage.  Wait for the autoshot to start casting before hitting steady shot - one of you clipped about 25% of your autoshots!  Also, use a macro to trigger Kill - you underused it in that fight, try something like this:

   /script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/use Bloodlust Brooch
/cast [target=pettarget] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/script UIErrorsFrame:Show()
/cast Steady Shot

THis macro should ensure you trigger Kill and your trinket as often as often as they are up and it does not affect the GCD.  You can edit the macro easily enough for other trinkets, attacks or even to /cast a 41 point BM ability :D

Warriors
Stop dying! :narnar:

Priests
Don't forget to use Shadowfiend EARLY to get the cooldown timer going.  If you use it too late then it will not be available for when you really need it later in the fight.  You should get a good 2 uses from it during the fight.  Also, one of you uses flash heal an awful lot - this is very mana inefficient, try downranking a Gr Heal to Rank 1 or 3 maybe, you get more HPM, same cast time and about the same raw healing, but less mana used.  On this fight Gr Heal is your main weapon!
PoH is pretty expensive mana wise - if any of you are CoH spec then use that instead, much better.

Druids
Add more +hit stats.  8.4 - 11% of all attacks were missed - that's free dps that was lost!

Paladins
Not much to say really, keep it going and when you got that many in a raid keep the Judgements up!

Enhancement Shaman
Add +hit gear - you missed 16% of your attacks.  That's free dps being wasted there!

Resto Shaman
Can I stronglly recommend that you use chain heal a lot more?  One of the two did not use it at all during the final attempt and Chain Heal is the shaman's most powerful healing spell.  Get that Chain Healing spell onto your hot bar and use it - it should form 50-60% or so of pretty much every WWS log for your healing.  Shaman healing melee are absolutely AWESOME healers with chain heal.  You should NOT be spamming healing wave as your main healing spell - let other classes handle that type of heal, so stick to Chain Heal as your base healing spell for the bulk of your healing!

All shaman need to keep an eye on their totem timers - make sure you use a mod for it and ensure the raid buff ones are up all the time (mana spring, windfury etc).

I hope the above analysis helps some.  Feel free to discuss any specific s with me in game, I'm more than happy to try to help where I can.

As a extra tip to all people id like to say,
try to use proper flasks not the cheap unstable ones
specialy the caster one its even worse for dmg then a adapts elixer
we have plenty of alchemists who wont charge you anything for crafting and can maybe even cut you a sweet deal on the price of herbs

also i saw some squishy healers and dps
try to aim to have at least 8k unbuffed health to get out alive of a any aoe effects.
remember that all your damage or healing is no good if your laying flat on the floor ( just imagine what vang could do if he dindt got himself killed all the time :P )

Thanx for the input there TL

I know i'll try to stay alive more :P(with duk's and squonks help ofc)

And lets hope ppl take some notes from the list and act upon it respectively

smite

With just over 3200 AP in last nights run i can afford to lose a bit for Hit rating.
I am trying to improve my DPS gear as i am mostly tank gear.

But well played by all last night real shame about that 0.1% (you know it must have been that close :D)

Yee haw!

TL says it all - gotta say, and I know I'm boasting, but I was chuffed to bits that Bobbyus stayed with Duk and Daedalus who are much better geared than him. Was really pleased to show that I can heal!

Secondly, I don't know about positioning, but I found that if I positioned on the edge of the white central circle, I was able to heal melee, both tanks and some dps quite easily.

Thirdly, I really think we should keep a judgement of light up - might be handy for trickle healing. I only managed it twice.

Fourth, and finally, if you're a pally, and you land next to someone who is much less durable than yourself then it's really simple to target them and cast flash heal immediately after the shatter so that an unlucky cave in doesn't kill them. Poor old Jeebus (Maldaror) spent most of the last try with me landing on him and I always popped him a heal.

Edit:

In response to Duk's comment about the gruul's flasks - I had a flask of the physician on last night and it worked a treat.  My base mp5 worked well enough because of the down time with shatter, and I was only going through 1 or 2 pots per fight.  Maybe I wasn't healing the tank, you might say, but I did cast a lot on the raid members.

I have to correct you there TL. Feral Druids are an exception to the rule when it comes to +hit%. Both Agi and Str are significantly better both per point and per item budget. You can read more about it in this thread, in case anyone is interested in the details: http://elitistjerks.com/f40/t13352-druid_why_hit_good_dps/ .
For Druids +hit% is basicly a stat that you pick up as you go; there is no reason to specificly gear for it (eventhough I admit to be hit capped myself). It does become more interesting once you get past ~4k AP buffed.

But anyway, thanks for taking the time to post such a long and detailed post. I hope people find it helpfull and get something out of it.

Ill help out more on scorch. But i only use it to get the 5x debuff on Boss then i go fireball directly untill the Debuff is about the fade then i renew it if not alrdy done by another mage.

hope we nuke him coming sunday ;-)

BTW: Is there any indication as to how high the HR needs to be?? like with Def skills on tank needs to be 490+ to be Crit imum as it where.

There is not really a certain level you should aim for. It's sort of a 'more is better' deal (till you're hit capped ofcourse). Point for point, it beats all other stats in terms of effectiveness.

But if you want to know what a certain change in stats or gear does to your DPS output Vontre's Mage DPS spreadsheet may be nice to take a look at. You can find it here: http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t10907-vontre_s_mage_dps_spreadsheet/ . You can also try out different specs and DPS-cycles and such in there; which is very handy.
