First of all.. Didn't really know wether to put this in banter or here.. but since I nearly started laughing, ill go with this one..

Second of all.. I know too well that having an unusual name aint allways a laughing matter.. Benedikt is a rather uncommon name in Denmark, and the female version Benedikte is a lot more common (have lead to lots of misunderstandings through time)..

anyways.. I work as a mailman, and I find some weird/funny/unlucky names out there..
some of the ones I remember:

First names: Pornpit,

Middle names: Legolas,

Last names: Fokking, Pornø, Shipillis, Horney, Zwisler (nothing naughty, just made me chuckle)

Full Names/initials: Marc Payne (had a welsh middlename, but still close enough to make my day), C.S & S (stood as S & C.S. on the mailbox, but my falcon eyes spotted it!)

oh.. and delivered mail to a lawyer who's licence plates were: JUSTICE


Anyways, thats the ones I can think of now.. I know there are more of em out there, just can't remember them now :sad:

Good ones mate :)

I was a weekend mailman as a study job as well for a few years.

Remember Hørm and Fogger but there was loads of others. Something with maaes (basically mås, meaning butt) and mugg (meaning mould), but not sure abt spelling anymore.

Also a classm8s name was Rob de Koe. Rob the Cow.
Everytime his name was mentioned someone made a moo-ing sound.
It was only fun for the first few weeks but still...

There used to be a female Police Inspector in Bath called Adora Dick.

She had a brother called Ivor.

I went to school with a girl called Varina, needless to say she has changed it now, but weirdly I can't seem to recall her new name:eyebrow:

My wife went to school with a girl caled Nora Dicke.  Swear to God - straight up.

I also went to School with the Ness Twins - Alistair and Peter. Problem is that a boarding school they call people by first initial and surname so the register was always A.Ness and P.Ness .

I love the internet. Everything is automated so no human checking. I regularly order catalogues for my wife in the name of Mrs B Igass and Mrs F Atbutt. She never finds it funny.
 
Which reminds me I need to get some care home brochures for her :)

I used to work in a payroll department and when checking the wages for one of the couriers I noticed the next of kin on file was the mother.

Named : Fanny Onions

I never plucked up the courage to ask whether it was a wind up!

hmmmm "Is your mother really called Fanny Onions?"

I have always said if I have son I will name him Adam, my surname is Hall :woot2:

now imagine when the teacher was telling us to put our full names on the front of our books man I hated it.....
 
As for funny names I like most of those that Bart does to Moe (simposons)
