Huh?

:norty: sounds like a plan

Quote from: o000o;225037But.... it shows the possibility for races with driver changes, I'd like us to try a few for a laugh, maybe a qualify, then slowest and quickest pair off working down the grid list, a 20 min race where you have to change driver between the 8th and 12th min. So you spend roughly half the race racing and half spying, goading, drinking and geeing on your team mate :D

Huh?
I like the sound of that, should be a larf.:)

Me too. Got a big grin just thinking about it. :roflmao:

Good idea, you can organise it. :norty:

Quote from: o000o;225037Hmmmm.... I sense that some point splitting between Deetz and me, it's almost irrelevant but Deetz should get the whole three points as he didn't gain any places by jumping in my car when I left, plus I left so I get nil points anyway.

I don't see how any points can be awarded. You didn't finish - Deetz didn't start
"War without end. Well, what was history if not that? And how would having the stars change anything?" - James S. A. Corey

Deetz

Well I didn't do the race for points but if they must be awarded :woot2: then half point's each is only fair. It was a fairly even split, certainly as even as allowed in GT racing.

I  am definitely up for a team race, bloody good idea. Brining yet another factor into the mix :).

2 or 3 members a team ?, the waiting will be a pain but you never know when you will be needed to jump in, and some basic rules as to the max time or percentage an individual driver can do, would keep things fair.

:yahoo:
dMrDeetz is currently :

Howz about (Jimmy Saville mode) boys & girls, us northeners agin those soft southerners? Scandinavian v tuther continentals?
Wheelers v mousers, nah not fair on Aquilifer.:D

Aquilifer

I kind of like the 2 man team idea (or 3, 4 what ever amount). Nothing wrong with trying for once at least.

It would be nice if the teams were somewhat even. The only problem is that if the second driver wants to use totally different set...like some unfortunate mouse driver might want to use less brake power

Hows about; (I've also got a JS hat) we undertake to use Race_S? Then there will be no arguments about setups.

That would at least be better than using Aquilifers setup, because I most often like to add a bit more force to brakes. At first I was not interested of this idea, but now I think it's at least worth to try. Could be fun.

How would the qualification work? If driver A wants to start, but driver B got better time in the quali can A take B´s position in the grid?

That's up to you and your team mate, tactics!

I'm working on the finer details of the rules atm, FIA are hard to please.

So you are saying my sets are even worse than race_s!!?? :sideways:

How about average of them? That would take both drivers into account. Bad side is that you would need to do some math manually and arrange the grid in the entry screen :g:

I think if you start a race with everyone on the grid but no one moves, the 2nd drivers spectate then the race is restarted the grid will be bunched up in order.

But that's too complicated, what is going to happen is after pairing up, the 2nd driver spectates so removing themselves from the grid, the 1st driver automatically takes up whatever place they qualified at on the grid at race start. Half the grid slots will be empty and the first corner will bunch up the pack so achieving the same thing. How you and your team mate decide who goes first and who takes the glory is up to you two :norty:

I'll finish and post the format this weekend.

Aquilifer

Yes, that might work if you do not average the times. What I was referring in the last post is if you are going to average the times. If you do it so that the other driver just removes himself, then the time the other player does in qualifying has no meaning. Is that ok? :g:

Other thing is how do you pair the players. If you want even pairs, it won't work that the two fastest drivers in the combo make a pair. You could think that the fastest player pairs with the slowest, 2nd fastest with 2nd slowest etc. But but...what if there are odd number of players? With whom the middle man is going to pair? Also from where the speed data, which is used to pair, is got? The qualifying (in that case the other player's time at least affect with whom he is going to pair) might be the best option. In that case you wouldn't know your team mate until the qualifying is over.
