Ok, so you almost got Gruul down.  But what next?

Magtheridon
Nice but not essential.  Drop the T4 chest, but it requires very good raid coordination and excellent DPS.  It's a DPS check and principally a test of your warlocks' ability to not be noobs.  You'll need at least 4 warlocks on your first tries, but once you have it down then you can do it with just 2.
*********

Serpentshrine Cavern
Hydross - needs 2 good tanks with full crafted resistance gear (one frost, one nature).  The gear is not cheap, so if you plan to do it start getting it now.  The fight is another DPS check but is doable once the mechanics ar eunderstood.

Lurker
Often seen as the easiest boss to start on, but this boss requires very good raid coordination - the entire raid will need to be moving at various points to avoid being killed.  DPS requirement not as high as Hydross.
*********

Tempest Keep - The Eye
Void Reaver - known as 'Loot Reaver' for good reasons.  It is a relatively simple fight that just needs good tanks and good sustained dps.  Drops T5 shoulders.

Solarian - 2.2 nerfed Solarian so bad he almost got demoted to Gruul's Lair.  He requires one good tank, great AOE and people who can run out of the raid when they have the debuff (think Molten Core's Baron Geddon bombs!).  He is very doable.  Doesn't drop any tokens but none the less has some seriously nice non-set pieces.

The hardest thing about the above 2 bosses is the trash you have to clear before you get there.
*********

Mount Hyjal & Black Temple
2.4 removes the requirement for attunement to MH & BT, so you can start going there.

Rage Winterchill
MH is an obvious place to start as the first boss is easier than Hydross.  It drops some very very nice pieces including the best shadow damage one hander and cloak in the game - and these drop from the trash waves prior to the boss so you don't even need to kill the boss.  You'll even be able to get epic gems etc there.

High Warlord Naj'entus
I would not go to Black Temple early - the first boss is a stamina check - everyone needs over 10k buffed to make it through with a decent margin and the healing requirements are massive and out of reach of lower geared raids (e.g. in addition to colateral splash damage, the whole raid takes 8.5k damage once every 45 seconds).
*********

You may think that SOG's name does not belong in the same sentence as some of these instances, but like it or not you are there.  I also think it might be worth taking a little trip in there at some point to see what they are like and for members to see what they are like.

Over to you.

Just for info.

A guild I have never heard of that raids with another guild I have never heard just posted on the realm forum that they downed Gruul in mid December, then downed Void Reaver 4 weeks later and Lurker 2 weeks after that.

thats some good momentum.

the aim is to go to lurker the moment gruul goes down - perhaps even on the same raid night(like we did when we downed ragnaros the 1st time)

Ok, well there's an open invitation from me to the raid leaders to grab me on TS and start prepping for it by going through the tactics with me. The more you know about the fight the easier it is.

Oh yeah, and make sure you have a supply of people with 375 fishing or you'll not be able to summon him!

QuoteIn order to start the fight, raid members must fish in the "Strange Pool" (needs 300+ fishing skill). Each cast has a chance to make the lurker come to the surface. The success rate of this ranges from 1-2 attempts up to fishing for 8 minutes straight. Some people claim that hitting the center of the pool has a higher chance to summon the Lurker, but this is not confirmed.
That's why 375 is needed, or you can spend ages waiting for him.  325 plus lures or so should max it out.

Aye those are pretty good vids, if a little over-simplified!  The Lurker strat is actually a hard way to do it, there is an easier way.  But, you can probably already spot that Loot Reaver is by far the simplest fight.  Solarian is probably second easiest, the most complex of those 3 is Lurker.

From WoR - might be worth popping over to Magtheridon asap.......

Quote2.4 Magtheridon

The current 2.4 patch notes are mentioning that Magtheridon's encounter received some changes, but they omitted Maggy is being turned into a TBC Onyxia because Blizzard included some goodies in his loot table such as a 20 slot epic bag (BoP, but not unique, so you can get several of them) and a green bag with 3 Black Temple quality gems in it, not to mention Badges of Justice and up to 25 gold per player on a single kill.

We did not have confirmation, but we suppose that Pit Lord's Satchel is a 100% drop as Onyxia's bag.
