New Maps!

We have some new maps loaded on the BF2 server.

Get them now to avoid disapointment on BF2 night.

Serious Stuff - (AAS)
Strike at Karkand 2 - Site1

Serious Stuff - (non-AAS)
Oil_Platform   - site1|site2| site3

Fun Stuff - (non-AAS)
Tank_Master  - site1|site2
Boat_Wars     - site1|site2
Heli_Attack   - site1|site2
BattleSea      - site1|site2
Battleships - site1|site2  -  *NEW*

These maps need to be extracted into your levels directory, not dragged and dropped from within WinZip. Ensure you preserve the directory name in the zip.

e.g.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\oil_platform

The maps don't work under AAS (except SAK2) and their design is such that an AAS route is not really possible, so we will restart the server in standard mode to run these.

To ensure that CP's show sensible names for SaK2 under AAS and on the minimap you should also install the following under

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English\
      dMw_locales.zip

New map added.

Battleships! (main post edited)

Three carriers, one Chinese, one U.S and an unocupied one in the middle with two flags.

Both flagships are UCB's, the battle is for the centre ship.

Due to the ships being in close proximity, the UCB's are valid targets for bombing runs and remote attacks. There is no need for either side to try and occupy the enemies flagship.

This will be a fast, violent battle. Just as we like 'em. :devil:

Each side starts with the following.....

2 x Jets
2 x Boats
1 x Attack Heli
1 x Bus Heli
1 x Mobile AA on deck
1 x fixed AA on deck
1 x TOW on deck

As lib's site says if you hate waiting..... why dont you try ghoules shiney no waiting quick downloading ftp server.
 
its open and free no signups or waiting for bandwidth and its going to be perminantly open until the day of the LAN (as most people should have it by then)

And I have just restarted the server in 'Standard' non-AAS mode with all the new maps in the cycle for you all to download, check and have a good look around.

you edited your post wrong there Lib, I think it was meant to say only you could abuse me :bleh:
 
BTW if anyone can think of anything they would like to see on my FTP server send us a PM what i dont want to be asked for is pr0n or anything deemed dodgy but any game updates and such like (i have another drive with 10gigs (possibly more) of game updates and a WSUS server with 30gig of microsoft updates
