Dr Sadako

I have been studying how people aim and shoot lately. I will share my findings here.

First where to aim.

QuoteOh and try and get in the habit of walking around with your gun at head height!

I have done this and I have definitely increased the number of kills I get. The number of HS have doubled. Although I think "headhight" should be described as throat/neck i.e. upper torso to the center of the head. If you are e.g. planning to go up a set of stairs start aiming at the top of the stairs asap i.e. place your aim where you expect your enemy.
Practice to keep your crosshairs up. It took me some time to learn to keep the crosshair in level.

If you know you have an enemy around a corner start shoting before you turn that corner. Shoot where you think he will be. If you don't know for sure take an educated guess. Where would you stand if you where there? That will definitely give you some edge.

Full auto in close combat is sometimes more effective than accurate burst fire. Combine it with a charge forward instead of a sideways strafe to get full effect.

Cheers Sadako, any knife info would be good!
Left or right, crosshairs at head or above.

I'd like to add that running toward a group of enemies and screaming like a desert dweller works a treat. And always make sure they are dead by holding down the trigger until it clicks.

KNIVES:

(1)  Aim at the 'headlight' area as described by Sadako.
(2)  Right click - it is 'slower' but ultimately does much more damage than a left click.

And the clincher is this:

(3)  The point at which your knife strikes the enemy is NOT the same point as the point at which the animation on your screen is showing your knife hitting the oppo's head or you hear the juicy sound of steel slicing through combat jacket and flesh.

Think about this last point carefully.  Have you ever been in a knife fight and thought 'how did they hit me' or 'how did I hit them'?  This is because the knife impact is calculated at the point you click on your mouse.  A long and painfully slow animation (particularly for right click knifing) is then played out for your delight across your screen.  But the damage is actually calculated at the point you click your mouse.  So do not try to 'time' your knife lunges by using the animation of the knife on screen or the juicy sound effects as a guide!  You'll be hitting the oppo too late if you do!  The damage point coincides with the mouse click - ignore the animation and the sound.

Hope this helps.

Also burst firing will drammatically improve A: your accurasy and B: number times you have to reload.

Out of interest, which weapons are still accurate'ish full auto?

Top of my head i would say P90 and silenced colt. I have also got the feeling that the Famas/Galil aren't too bad.

Aiming AND shooting - It'll never catch on here  ;)

Any advice on which is better as a T - AK or the new one (famas?  galil?).  New one is much cheaper and there doesnt seem to be much of a dip in performance.
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

TeaLeaf

I have to admit to buying the Galil as bmy default T gun these days.  It is pretty accurate both in burst and in full auto at close to medium range.   But I am going through one of those can't hit anything with an AK phases :(  If I were shooting it properly I reckon the AK is still more accurate for the long shots and still does more damage.  But I'm still buying a Galil.

That is exactly how I feel bout it TL - very cheap in comparison which seems to more than outweigh any drop in performance.  I cant remember buying an ak for a long time since they introduced it.  Better for "spray n pray" as well I find, especially up close whereas the ak tends to kick wildly.

The CT version (famas?) is just pants all round - even the sound of it makes it feel like a toy gun  :o   Shame really as the CTs could do with a cheap alternative rifle for the M4.

Firstly i feel the gail very good for hs at long distances espesialy crouched down. The famas i very good long range on burst fire as it usually gets a hs with the 4 bullets it fires. But i like the sig now its got more power and with my scopes very easy to kill people. Also make sure you have a quick swap button for your primary/sec gun and when going around corners jump around them but silently making you a harder target to get. And use the shadows and blindspots of the maps, and when you need to reload take cover dont reload on the move it just makes you an open target.

No difference in bonus if you crouch/walk/stand with this weapon. My suggestion is to stay on your feet.
