Alts for Kara ?

OK some member thoughts needed on our Kara run ….:devil:

Tonight again we DE’ed  more than we pick up, very active members have picked up most of the kit required  and maxed out on rep along time ago

Thought s on turning Kara into a free run for alts ?

If u have maxed out on rep for kara then u should be able to bring an alt ?
The down side is you may end up with an under equipped team ...

simple rule

alts can ONLY come in with the consent of officers
this is due to it not impacting on the raid.

ALT must be resonably geard to be able to come on the run and must be able to forfil there function.

yes alts are alowed but must forfil above criterial, ie not totally in greens

But what about progress ? If we start gearing alts that doesn't mean more player to gruul for example. I have heard that many of the members are very bored to Kara, so shouldn't we more forward? And we can clear Kara in one night if we want. The badge farming is a whole dirrefent thing, if we want badges we need to farm Kara forever but I would like some proggress

I think we have almost 25 pretty nicely geared players, atleast close to it.
And Zul Aman has started nicely we just need to learn more and that needs wiping.

These are just my thoughts and I'm sure the officers have some kind of a plan but in my opinion if we start gearing alts it is like starting kara all over again.

I agree with Lex - progress should be the name of the game.
 
Once we have 30 regulars for Raiding then Karazhan will be forgotten quicker than a very quick thing.
 
Imagine being able to put up a raid schedule that looked like
 
Sun - Gruuls complete then onto.......
Tues - Start SSC
Thurs - Continue SSC move onto......
 
When we have the number of raiders needed for a raiding guild then Kara alt gimp runs no problem...fri afternoon/eve sat afternoon/eve, no need to grind heroics for gear just get an alt run going to kara.
 
I'd love to get my hunter and priest geared up and it will happen at some time, but for now the focus needs to be getting enough people that will turn up week in, week out to progress SOG raiding and  IMO that means mains working together to provide the teamwork required for the tougher places.
 
However whilst we can still only get one Kara run going, either do it with all 10 alts, so all the alts get a whiff of loot or just continue with mains and try and get the speed up and the wipes down and continue badge farming till the cows come home.

There are some easier targets than SSC to start with after Gruul FB.  Zul'Aman to start with and the even easier Magtheridon for example, but it would indeed be nice to see SOG move on to fresh raid instances.

Indeed TL i'm never quite sure which way round they go after Gruuls
 
I think the point is that at the moment there is a coice of 2 different 10 mans that we can have a go at.
 
If/ when we get to full raid strengh (and we were a gnats do-da away less than 2 months ago) then you could have a choice of any of the 25 mans and/or 2 seperate grps to either/both of the 10 mans.

Currently we dont have the manning for 25 man. At some point member numbers will increase be it next week or in a couple of months but we are still going to do a kara run in the mean time.
 
Most people have alts and would like to use them but cannot due to there class.
Take a well known Priest who would love to get his rogue into Kara for the gear and aswell the fun of it but cannot due to the lack of healers. A tank who like try a mage (me )
I am sure there are others but they dont have options other people may have.
 
Maybe look at an added night for alts.
Look at who can fill a place of someone wanting to try an alt.
Or scrap the idea and everyone plays there main but trys another instance.

personally, i'd like to see more commited members join the guild so we can have more people to have a 2nd kara group for alts... but sometimes i'd like to have a change from healing and having a DPS / Tanking experience again...

But yeah i would love to bring my mage into kara, but most of us have dps alts...

Well IMHO if any of you have any low level characters 12-20 and want to help me out and start over again then feel free.
Had great help from Jim earlier saved me from nasty spiders and trying to make my home base in the Horde territory.:doh:

As i said to you, i got a L13 / 15 druid i think off the top of my head, if you want i can quest with you, take you around more places

As for the pumpkin :O, that was a drop from an instance that only occurs once a year, maybe if i'm nice i'll buy you a pet

I got a L12 Pala that I just started called Vaylen.  Tbh I am mainly running him through Dead Mines multiple times with my L70 mage as the XP is so quick and easy, so if you want to tag along and level a bit quick then shout!

I have two lvl70s a shad priest with a few epic and the god (doh i mean Evo) in all honesty i enjoy healing but a break would be nice every now and then. My alt isnt in SOG and wont be and perhaps that is something i need to discuss with the officers however im here for progression so if you need my healing then thats what ill do.

as far as my opinion goes we need to get more members for 25 mans and progressing onto the new Instance!

We did well a coulple of months back when we got Gruul down to 1% on our third try, this seems to be a long way off now, we have 1 good team that can push kara to its limits,we should be moving on from there and leaving it to alts!

There is no attunement to BT or Mount Hyjal now, i cant believe that ppl would not want to progress to these Instances and get some phat loot,apart from the new badge rewards!


I dont have many alts so im not sure what help i would be,I know that i dont wanna be stuck in kara for the next 6 months
