Dual mains???

what is the oppinion on having a primary and secondary main? rather than just one main and lots of alts?

ie i have decided that im NOT wanting to take my mage in karazan any more. I find it really boring when i can do the same raid function on another toon but have some fun with it.

I know this is a bit selfish but tbh i dont care i have spent sooooo much time raiding kara on my mage and im bored to the back teath of it.

This kind of ties in to the main's / alts topic posted in general but im not going to sound off in there.

If there is NO upgrades for a toon in a certain instance then im not raiding with it, now i know there are badges etc but tbh i really was bored in kara tonight on my main (not to mention ****ed off), there were several points where i just felt like leaving the raid as i couldnt be doing with it, but u know im not like that and i wouldnt leave a team in it like that.

Thats the diffrence between some people in wow I play for the fun..i get more out of the game by helpin people tbh

Dont get me wrong loots nice but i wouldnt put it over friends and helping

we either have runs for mains or runs for alts not mixed unless we need an alt to do a job

The problem I got last night was trying to explane to people why an ALT is going on a raid ....All sorts of crap comments yadda yadda to the point where the raid would have fallen over ( yes people wanted to leave )

Most if not all have an alt availble to raid kara ... Even tho an alt is up to the task it *could* be taking the place of a member with a main

A number of our members have stopped signing up to raids as they dont want play a Main in there but would jump at the chance to bring an alt

We cant realy have a rule for one and not another ... im still thinking of fair options, im hoping that some good comments come out of the thread

Why not run an alt Kara on another night, make it a social less pressured thing and just do what you can on the night - make a rule that alts have to be in the eyes of the officers sufficiently geared and then just give it a go. Most bosses are 60% knowing the tactics, 40% gear, so you'll prob get further than you think.

As an aside, I think Sheepy's comments are largely in frustration rather than a blanket 'I'm not raiding on my mage in Kara', but then he has been properly geared for far longer than most, so I can understand if his frustration is higher than some others.

As for alts in raids. I know you have a rule about it, but I also think there are times when class balance says you need to make changes. If you end up with multiple of the same class then I think alts should be considered, but on a case by case officer-decided 'need' basis.

If the issue is really that too many are already geared then change the main two raids each week to ZA (not Kara) and run one or two raids to Kara on the third night where alts are allowed. Failing that, drop Kara and move to ZA for 2 nights and then pull 25 together on the third night for 25 person raid content.

yup good points....I recon ZA or some place is the way to push now with maybe 1 night of Kara for new blood/alts/badge faming and 2 nights of ZA

Maybe an option for anyone to finish Kara if they see enough members on and willing

I can understand sheepy as I'm feeling the same way with my lock, nothing more to gain apart from helping others to get gear.

So lets have mains pushing.... keeping it interesting to avoid people getting board

OK this is really only effects sheep - You really need to pick a main for raiding .. The mage would be nice with the good gear but I don't mind its your cash and you should play the one that you enjoy the most

Yes again I had to fend off comments when picking the team why an alt was there..I don't think being an officer makes any difference when picking the team as long as we have at least one to guide the raid and help new members fit in

The raid for Tuesday has already got people signing up alts for ZA ( Jim and kels ) so a president has be set.

ps ... with the 25 man template we could gain a few members with people changing there mains where we are class heavy ..I have no problem with this but a time limit should be set 1/4 months for example

Alts CANNOT be in a progress raid apart from specifically asked alts.

there will be a decision made on this tonight and i will post it in officers and in public.
