So I've managed to pick up a cheap copy of BF2 (deluxe pack I think) and fancy hooking up with y'all for a game now that my crippling wow addiction is over and I'm enjoying my FPS again.
 
Few questions -
 
  • The mods you use - Are they essential for the dMw servers?
  • What maps/map packs will I need?
  • Any advice for setting up for the first time (account issues, etc)?
  • Any other recommended servers that you folks play on so I can get used to the game?

ok ure a charlie so make your username include your wings.. as you wont have enough space in teh clan tag..
 
the patches and maps sometimes pop up when Arm and Lib have been on the git juice and want to mess about (its fun and Lib is funnier online than in person less of a whinger :flirty:)
 
make sure u update punkbusted and get the maps, either from my ftp or Libs page (theres a sticky)
 
come on mondays and enjoy yourself :yahoo:

Eh? Not sure I understand that bit :g: I've read that sticky post by TL but it still ain't clear.  Maybe it will make sense once I load up a profile?

I think with battlefield you can put a clan tag on seperatly to your username....but it won't have room for the wings so you should put it in to the username itself.

Mods - ignore that to begin with, just go vanilla. The only 'mod' we use is the AAS mod. It requires nothing on your part, but it means that when you play the game on our server the flags have to be captured like pearls on a string. This makes the game more fun with few people since all have to fight for each flag, one at a time.

Maps - stick with standard to begin with, or get this list:

First time account - as mentioned by the others. Add the dmw-tag to your name when you register. ignore the prefix option later.

Servers - find RIP's server. PM me if you want details, or contact Paddy, Dewey or Ranger.
