Oooh, Tracy Scoggins.

Not the most alluring name, sounds like a Lancastrian chip shop assistant.

Hmm, tbh I wouldn't buy this. The only reason I can see to buy it is that it is the complete B5 universe on DVD in one box. However, the movies and crusade are quite poor, especially "The Lost Tales" were down right awful.

I own the B5 series and love it so don't get me wrong.

I have to disagree about one of the films.

"In the begining" was a good one and filled in a lot of the back story about the Earth - Mimbar war. The rest added nothing to the overall universe.

Also, it shouldn't be watched before the first 2 series as it explains far too much of the underlying plotline that kept the momentum going.

I assume "The Lost Tales" has the same poor production as "Legend of the Rangers".

If I remember rightly, the special effects for the first few series were all done on Amiga's and were some of the first broadcast quality CGI effects. Seaquest DSV also used the same technology. Star-Trek were still using models with overlays.

BigFatCat

The FX were done on the Newtek Video Toaster, if my failing memory serves me.

Actually you're both kinda right :narnar:

QuoteBabylon 5 was also one of the first television shows to use computer technology in creating visual effects, using Amiga-based Video Toasters at first, and later Pentium and DEC Alpha-based systems.

OK, that one was ok, but the rest of them wasn't very good.
