I'm trying to turn my mouse sensitivity down from 6.0 but when I join or check it in game it has reverted back to 6 regardless of what I've changed it to.

Where should I check to see what's overwriting it?

Thanks

Could be any config file potentially, check them with notepad in your cstrike/cfg folder for anything with sensitivity "6". Or i think if the main config file is set as "read only" it won't allow it to be changed so you could check that also.

Yeah...the config.cfg file in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\jabber_uk\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

shouldn't be 'read only' if you want in game changes to be saved.

Of course yours would be something like:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hunglikeadonkey\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

I don't know these guys seem to have an answer, I'm interested to find out because this often happens with my crosshair settings.

set your config file to be NOT read only. Start game, set mouse sensitivity. quit game. write protect file again.

DuVeL

Also depends, what mouse do you have and did you install it with a disc?
Otherwise check the program you installed if you did...

I think Pen has a copperhead, or at least a razer of some kind.

Penfold

Yah, I have a Copperhead which is why it's now become an issue.

I di check my config.cfg, dmw.cfg (Admin) and userconfig.sys (walk toggle, crouch toggle, crouch+jump script etc) but didn't see any references to mouse apart from the mouse acceleration one. I'll have another look. It may well be the read-only aspect which is throwing it out.

Thanks

You are looking for something like:

sensitivity "1.0"

It could be that its not been set in the config and 6 is default. I'll have a look when I get home if you haven't already solved it.

Penfold

Yeah - that could well be it actually Jamoe.

If you could check that would be great thanks

Blunt

are you using the razer configurator?
I set mine up with that and don't have any issues with it
