mixed bag for me again qualified 4th but managed to squeeze past manny and aquilifer as they were having a right old ding dong (technical term) and took 2nd after a couple of laps of the race.
managed to hold on to venca for a lot longer than i thought and doing so was able to pull out around 4 seconds on the chasing bunch :)
just before half distance started to get warning signs from the tires that all was not well so took it easy for a few laps to give them a rest which gave manny a chance to catch up .
had a good battle with him but eventually he got past and i started to concentrate on me tires again, wondering when to pit. but as they wore down they seemed to come back to me and with pb's coming nearly every lap i thought they would last:doh: right rear blew on 40 mins:crying:
crawled back to the pits (its getting quite a habit this:sad:)
and finally rejoined back in 7th. managed to take a place back when andy suffered the same fate. unlucky bud.

great racing once again :D

congrates to venca, manny and aquilifer :thumbsup2:
It is better to stay quiet and act the fool, than to say something and remove all doubt

Yet again another great combo & race
Finished quali in 9th and was happy with how the car was feeling but i knew i had to get my head down and pick up some places:g: Got a good start and managed to get past Doors through T1 then managed to sling shot The Duck into T1 on lap 2.Managed to set a good pace but had to watch out for Oldie who was only about 2 or 3 secs behind me.Pitted about 25 mins in  then hot lapped with Scratchy 2-3 secs infront of me until Kev was hunting me down.Went into the right hander with about 10 laps to go and Kev right behind me & suddenly the rear left blew and i was a passenger:doh:
Pitted and got some new boots to finish 8th.Well done gents most enjoyable race:yahoo:

This was a great race. I was exhausted at the end, but it was worth it. :)

I had a good qualifying being 2nd. I was especially pleased as I had done a new setup and not done much laps with it. It was maybe slightly slower, but the front tyres should stay ok for 1h.

I hadn't tested the set with full fuel load (I had 64%), which turned out to be a bad mistake. Maybe for the first 1/4 race my rear end was having a life of its own. In the tricky chicane my usual style was going sideways. No chance staying with Venca. Del went past me soon and at some point Manny and Sean too. At that point it crossed my mind that this is again one of those races where I screw up a great starting place.

I managed to get back past Manny and we had one heck of a race with me, manny and Sean. Also Romus joined the group later. Couldn't rest for a moment as there was always somebody breathing to my neck. We changed places many times. At some point Manny managed to get past and disappeared into the horizon as me and Sean clocked some slower laps thanks to constant duelling.

I had a slight misthinking at the pit stop. I pitted at 60% mark (c 36min) and had set change tyres if wear >60%.  The intention was to put the 55%. The crew changed rear left only. So I had bit of fear if the right rear would last the whole race. Anyway it did and there was lot of rubber left so the wearing must have been because of the eccessive sliding of the rear end in the first quarter. The car felt much better in the end with less fuel, but I slowed down slightly, because I didn't want mess it up so close to the end and the rear right was worrying a bit too.

I have to be very happy even I dropped down one place from qualifying as I had had a longer 'dry' season because of own mistakes, bad driving, bad luck, discos etc.

Congrats again to all who managed to finnish. :)

Romus

Well done Aquilifier! It was nice to see you performing again and not getting all the bad luck poured over you. I started a bit slow behind you Manny and Seany to see how the tires would work. I dared to start pushing in the end, and got it working for a while, but I tried a bit too much and got a well deserved spin. A lovely fight again. Why not have 1h races every night? :D
