I am also ready to chip in. If you like I could buy that 120GB and fill it with ... LAN photos amd then deliver it at the LAN. Then when people have looked at the pictures we can delete some of them and fill with new.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. 120GB is pretty cheap these days if it's an IDE the server will take. I'd image it would take a bit to fill that (famous last words) if we are sensible and delete any old stuff after a month say. I'd be happy to chip in, having made good use of the space provided so far. :wink:

Well as Stryker said let's give it a short time and we'll see how we go.  If end up changing the HDD then we can debate various cost:size benefits of different HDDs.  Â£160 will get you 200GB for example.

Unfortunately, AFAIAA we need a single drive, hence I didn't bother going down that route.  Linux is tough enough without trying to get it  to share over 2 HDDs

So you AQuire a somewat spare PC with a nice new LARGE HDD that just happened to be for someone at work and we get it all for free........whats the catch
