Nutter! I bet he wouldn't be able to pull that stunt today. I' have seen it before so I didn't watch it all but there is a point when a car nearly pulled out of a side street in front of him. :flirty: Sorry to be negative, but I have a thing about public roads being used as a sports venue. :sideways:

Moral aside, that was cool to see. The nutters doing it today and taping it are just copy cats then :)

Crazy son of a beach!
Erm, what do red lights mean again?

Claude Lelouch, the director, explained that the car he was driving was actually a Mercedes, with the Ferrari exhaust note added to give the viewer a greater sense of speed, he also confirmed that he drove the car himself.:g:

close, it was an old bagger of a merc, film speeded up and dubbed over with a Ferrari 250 GT sound (or was it a 275 GTB :g:) I'm afaid that you will never get a Merc sound like a Ferrari :flirty:

shame it wasn't real though
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

DogMeat

I did wonder why an F1 car had headlights...

Some pixies. No cars. No talent.

But all the other cars were travelling at a normal speed ?

One trick is to put the camera very low. It gives a sense of much higher speed. You can try it in e.g. LFS. Make a film and watch it from a custom viewpoint which is put close to the road surface.

Yeah I know and was surprised of how slow the film felt. I think he tried to compensate a lot by doing this, but if you are used to the effect you can see through it...
