I hope it will not be necessary to have this, but on my favorite server they have spawn protection. Until you leave your spawn area (you are not possible to shoot. To indicate this you are a little transparent and flashing, until you leave. Not annoying at all, and nice to know.

Unfortunatly, I have seen this happen on a few servers even the ones with Spawn protection.
Basically some loser will camp one of the spawn exits and as you leave in a wave he/she will gun you all down.

No sure how we would manage it tbh

How can it happen, with spawn protection on?

Placing it in the MOTD and admining it fiercely could keep the worst away? But then again, like the OOB MOD, it would be nice, if admins could enjoy more gaming and spend less time on that kind of admining...

Once you leave the spawn protection your still out in the open so its sort of a grey area.

I would imagine it's hard to admin too as you (if you are the one KIA) don't know who killed you.  You also don't know who is alive or dead at any one time so it's tough.

Indeed. I wonder if such information is possible to view when being an admin, i.e. from console fx? A bit like damage reports from CS:S...

On one server that I'm playing on a lot you always get information who killed you and how many points you got for it etc. I think by having that kind of thing it would be possible to notice after a while who's the spawn killer.


And yeah it would be nice to have a same kind of OOB MOD that we have on our CSS server. If you go too near to an enemy spawn you'll get autoslayed. The only problem is that on some maps you can actually see the enemy spawn from far away:sideways:

I suppose at the end of the day, what all this comes down to is time for Admins and Server folk to do all this stuff.  If like me they have 'REAL' lives then I'm surprised they can do what they already do!  When do they get time to 'PLAY'???

Insurgency is not a primary 'officially's supported game yet is it?

I would officially like to offer some spare time to projects like this one if its agreeable to the powers that be.  Perhaps there are several of us who play the game who would like to get involved?

Anyway, I'm interested in seeing this game progress :D

I too am very interested in dedicating time to this. I believe Insurgency fits well with dMw playing style.

i'll be there 8 sharp.

 going back to the spawn killing issue i had this problem the other night and it must of happend at least 5 times, but the trouble was that i was spawning right next to the last flag as the enemy was trying to take it. i cant remember the map name but i think it needs sorting ( if possable) so that we spawn away from the flag and we don't get instantly killed.
