We always seem to get releases on Friday's although im sure there is a 11:55pm showing ^^

Wooo you're in for an epic read mate!
My advice is to really take your time reading each chapter and let all of it sink in. Oh and see if you can find all the smiley faces hidden in the numerous panels troughout the book!

Unfortunately not, the Birmingham imax for some reason isn't showing it, when Iheard this I was all ready for a road trip but my friends weren't having any of it

Saw this on Saturday and thought it was excellent! Went with a large group of friends and we universally thought it was good. Even my girlfriend, who hasn't read the book and thus was our test subject for whether the movie held up on it's own merits, loved it. Having said that, coming out of the cinema I did overhear one of the staff saying that he'd not heard anyone saying good things about it thus far. I quickly told him we all loved it, but I do wonder if a large number of people are going to see it expecting a slightly dark superhero movie, a la Dark Knight, and Watchmen simply isn't about that. The action plays a very small part to the main meat of the movie and book, which i've always seen as an interesting look at the darker sides of the human psyche.
