Report. Great race with Sean over quite a few laps, talk about grinning from ear to ear! :D Then he disappeared for a while, then a lot later on he came out of the pits just behind me. We had another little battle by which time I was getting really tired so it was not without a little relief I heard a 'Aagh!' in my headphones. Eau Rouge struck again! :norty: All that remained was to bring it home which I nearly cocked up by leaving my braking too late at the Bus stop. I was desperate not to hit the concrete so I headed for the pit lane, stopped and reversed. I expect the stewards will have something to say about that.
Wait a minute, I am a steward. :norty:  Schtum.

Quote from: Doorman;263278I agree 100%. It would be nice to keep the chat to a bare minimum too. To me, part of the attraction of the weekly long race is the intensity.

I know everyone gets excited when they pass the finish line but I think it would also be nice to wait until everyone is across the line before starting all the post race banter. On a circuit like Spa people could be a couple of minutes away from the leaders and again it's very distracting if you're having a battle for position and the chat box keeps popping up. Also you miss whats being said. :g:

Having said that the race was a blast, albeit a grueling one :woot2:

I nabbed pole because some of the faster guys didn't post a time for some reason? I got a good start and had a reasonable lead for a few laps before the inevitable huge slide coming out of Eau, which let 3 others past! Then I caught them all up a bit later after what looked like the end of a three way squabble over who had the line for the Bus Stop   Back up at the front again I had another slide and let people through again. Then P1 and 2 pitted a lap before me and after my pit I was back behind Deetz and we had a ding dong battle between laps 13-15 swapping the lead several times until I had another huge Pouhon drift  Trying to catch up I went wide at the very easy T15 Stavelot and this time I couldn't avoid the armco  :crying:

All in all great fun and some good close racing and I got 8 laps further through the race than last time at Montreal. Maybe next time I'll even finish :D

What a complete nightmare.

A bug in game meant I could not get the gear ratio I wanted without a 15 minute wait. Eventually having tried all I could, I opted to wait the 15 minutes loosing all the practice time. Then when qualifying started I found another bug. The car would start but no throttle etc. It was like awaiting the end of a repair count down, but there was no work being carried out.

A PC reboot (a registry file recovered from a backup!) and server problems meant  I finally got re-connected with a bit of qually remaining. But on my one chance of a good lap a car came out of pits and trundled slowly through Eau Rouge. I tried to go round but there was contact.

I was not in the best of moods after all these problems and a lack of any continuous running, but I tried to be positive for the race start.

Before the race start I set the fuel to 30L (max) filled the car and then set fuel to 28L for my stop. After a cautious start I made a few places in the first couple of laps then noticed my fuel situation. Only 10L of fuel remaining.   :ranting2:

Two stops would now be required; I lost motivation, made a few little mistakes and a bit of time allowing Moose to close in. (A worse qualification than me!!) The prospect of a good dice re-motivated me, but then Moose vanished from my mirrors. Accident at Eau Rouge.

I had a few good battles through the race, especially with Mark, and fought hard to keep the car on the road with almost no grip at the end of my long middle stint.

Somehow I managed to finish 2nd.

Congratulations to all who finished.

Apologies for the misdemeanours. Re-connecting during qually and starting to gas bag too soon at end of race. I promise to be better next time.

Onwards and upwards.

I told him to bite down hard on his dummy! :norty: Seems to have done the trick. :D
If you think you were having problems, I  was close to cutting my throat when I had to go restart the server. Nobody is going to come back! Oh the shame! I'm doomed!
God bless you all for coming back. :crying:

Dont feel bad about that...lots of people did it, including me !   That's the prob. If its allowed then people will do it.

Qualy has to be made a closed session (no rejoins). That's the only way to stop it.  People soon adapt when they know it's a one chance deal. :)

Sorry to hear of your gear ratio probs.  What a pain.

So what is being suggested is that I set the server to not accept new clients during qualifying? :g: I'm inclined to try education first. I know that our chaps will abide by that ruling. Maybe we can spread the word that rejoining during quali is frowned on as unsporting. The main concern would be people on outlaps keeping out of the way.
It would be nice if we can strike the balance between serious and fun. :)

Now I AM going to bed!

Hi all.

It was a funny evening and intense race !
It's a reel challenge to stay on track all during this hour without faults.
I've made one at the bus stop chicane but without damage.

I think I've been lucky during this race, because lot of fastest driver's have been damaged, I think to Stuart with his incredible time lap.

I like the idea of a pitstop during race, this is a good thing to be near realistic race.

Anyway, to finish first, first you have to finish.

Sorry for trouble about chatting a the end of the race

Hope in a next version of NKPro we could enable / disable chat windows.

See you on the next event  :byebye:

Deetz

Well done Olivier B, no mater how it comes, a win is a win. :D

Its no good being quick if your stupid. Looking at the results my best lap was about 6 seconds quicker than yours, so I must have been very stupid. :g: (argghh fuel)

I'm hoping for better next time. :boxing:

Yes, well done Olivier :thumbsup2:

Consistency is definitely hard to beat. The last 2 races I've been able to do fast lap times but not finished either race, so 'Nil Points'

The points start next week and it could well be decisive to FINISH a race. Points will go down to 15th place providing you do at least 75% of the race. So if you crash and need to repair it is not a lost cause. :flirty: So we don't want any 'I've crashed, that's me out, Goodnight' stuff. :)

Off Topic but - Anyone know why the Avatars and Signatures have disappeared for some of us???

Whilst I'm already OT, anyone noticed the new trailer they're using to advertise nK on the official website?
That guy in P1 looks pretty handy :D
