Qualified 4th and with enough time for a 3rd "risky" run, was hoping to improve to P3. On my outlap the room went pitch black and I was left holding a dead wheel...there was a powercut in my area. I rejoined with a few minutes to left in Q and would start somewhere around 11th.

Decided to take it very steady at the start and leave plenty of safety margin...this worked pretty well as I was 4th at the end of lap 1 and 2nd at the end of lap 2, without really overtaking anyone :D

Couldn't offer much of a fight to Deetz so had a quiet race, only seeing the occasional lapped car (all behaving very courteously). Only incident was a brush on the wall of champions which luckily only bent the steering a tiny bit.

It's great fun keeping these tricky cars on a tough circuit for extended periods of time, I had a blast...thanks to the organiser and all who raced, grats again to Deetz.

Nice reports. :) Keep 'em coming.

I got home too late for yesterday's race. :( I was at a political meeting which lasted longer than expected. (they have a tendency for that... :sideways:)

And to make it worse I'll miss the one next week as well. There's a big party to celebrate that I'm half way done with my studies. Should be fun! I'll join some practice sessions though, 'cause I really like Spa.

Well my car seemed slightly off in qualification, and I 'only' :narnar: managed a low 55 to place 3rd. Where I was managing 54's regularly earlier on in the week.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don’t think NetKar Pro has changeable wind, I presume it was just the pressure of the situation that was causing the cars ill handling...lol

Still I was pleased with 3rd, though Moose looked to be comfortably quicker than everyone else. :worship:

At the race start I thought I had a good clean get away, keeping pace with Moose. But Spudgun shot past me like I was standing still, with the most gentle of touches just to wake me up.

I got my head down to get some consistent laps in. Then the leaders started to fall by wayside. Moose into the bunker at turn 1 - 2 , then Mark had a big slide into the final chicane. I had to take avoiding action, cutting across the wrong side of the concrete barrier, but lived to tell the tale.

Now in P1, I noticed Richard Johnstone was behind me and checked the gap over a few laps, and noticed to my relief that I was starting to pull away, if only very slowly. I had a quick check of how much fuel per lap I was using, to make sure I filled the car enough at the pit stop to reach the end of the race. I decided to add a couple of extra litre’s of fuel at the pit stop to be safe.
After 12-13 laps the grip started to drop off quite rapidly and a number of small errors started to creep in, so I was glad of the new set of tyres fitted at the pit stop.

The run to the end was uneventful until the last couple of laps, when a spin at the middle chicane halved the gap to 2nd place, and put me behind a back marker. The re-pass on the backmarker was a heart in mouth affair when he put up more resistance than I expected, I presume he thought the pass was for position.

I was relieved as well as pleased to finish P1 on my first 1hr dMr NetKar Pro race. :yahoo:

Cheers to all in the race, and catch you next time.

@Deetz sorry for the hold up the last lap  the rush of racing got to me i was in the zone :flirty:...
i think i tried to make up for the fact that i had to wait 10 minutes in the pits after the first lap because i forgot to put fuel in :ranting2: :lmfao:

You can check the start and my fisrt lap :
(it's my first FRAPS video test on-line so the compression could be better)

Nice video! :) That looked very nice indeed.

Good job. On the video that is. :D Now think how nice that would have looked with dMr skins! Off you go to the Download section. If you have a skin let us know where we can find it. :)

No worries .pixr thats just racing. ( I reserve the right to change my opinion at any time, including just after a collision. :eyebrow:)

It would have been eisier for me just to hang back for the last lap or two, as I still had a comfortable margin, but I didn't want to change my pace too much as that's when errors start creeping in.

Catch you all at the next one.

PS. Spudgun I plan to have freshly scrubbed in tyres fitted for the start of the next one. Hopefully that will stop you jumping me off the line.

Nice video .pixr the quality's not too bad for online.

I was wondering can anyone let me have a replay file of the first three laps please.  Mines only set for 20mins and I wanted to see where I screwed up by hitting the chicane barriers on lap 2. Thanks.

I thought I had it, but for some reason beyond me, it starts at lap 10. Something good has come out of this though, I've at least learnt how to work the replay system.

I think you need to go into the Settings/Options and adjust the Replay Memory value. If you've got it set to 30mins for example then you get the last 30mins of any race, hence the reason yours starts at lap 10, 15 remaining laps at about 2mins each would equal 30mins of replay. Obviously the longer the time value the more disk space is used.

This is the reason I don't have the start of the race either. Maybe for Wednesdays race I'll adjust the value too.

just to add to next weeks excitment at SPA:racing:

We all know to well now that the tyres do go off over a period of time, which have quite a dramatic effect on the handling of the 1600 cars, now spare this for a thought, you are approaching Rouge flat out and you have felt over the last couple of laps that the tyres are starting to loose grip, what does one do:g:
keep going flat out or slow up, then there is the bus stop, the hardest breaking zone on the circuit, again being caught out here could also end a race quickly, and how about the off camber bends which also are laying in wait for us.

this race will require 110% concentration, much more than any other sim i have played, with no screen indicaters for tyre wear ect makes the immersion that much more, and also the thought of a 10 miniute repair keeps you on your toes.

Either way i think tyre wear will be a major factor that will be in the back of my mind and i am sure others to for next weeks race, wendsay can't come quick enough for me, super stuff.. :D

ps is it me or the more you push the car eg the faster you become the more ffb come through the wheel! not had that before, also you can actually feel yourself scubbing the tyres through the feedback in the wheel.

reply's of wisdom please:D

Mine's set at 45 minutes, :g: Maybe I'll up it for Wednesdays.
