Mille Sabords

#1
R1 tyres was a must!
All R2 users were making fun of the formers on the grid, but it proved very difficult to warm up the tyres (impossible?).
Apart from that we had a disco feast during quali and race, and not much close racing.

My race: quali with 70% fuel, forgot to change after testing the handling in the race before the quali... 11th on grid.
Started with caution, was 12th at the end of the lap with a good slipstream for the straight, and... disco :(
Joined and started again 10 seconds ahead of Venca (discoed at the same time) but he closed the gap quickly :)
After 10 laps he was in my mirrors, I readied for a good fight and...spinned the car.
Minor damage with a 10° bend to the steering, enough to send me flying into the tyres at the chicane - car took a spinning flight for 10 seconds before landing upside down (is that called the coin flip stunt?). That was around the 25 minutes mark.

I specced the race and saw manny struggle on R2s despite being clearly faster, and CrazyR1 loose it slowly to Sean (damaged car did not help) for a pass in the last 3 minutes of the race.

Combo a bit boring for me, too much full throttle and no much wheel to wheel action. And also Netkar F1600 does feel better than the FBM :)

must agree, quite timely the fbm rearing its head at the same time as the nk bug taking hold.

found driving the fbm very detached and... well not really as much fun as i remembered.
i always loved racing the single seaters but for some reason the spark has gone

but as you said, it might be the combo not really being that exciting.

What? Did someone actually pass the 1h network stability test? I'll play some more Wii and come back then.

yeah, bit of a bugger with the discos.  Some how I managed to survive and win the race :D .  Was a good battle with Andy, there wasn't more than a few seconds between us from start to finish. I went with R1s and set tires to change at 48% wear, At the pitstop it just changed my front left.  Andy started to struggle with his near the end of the race allowing me to gain on him and pass.  I thought manny was going to get in on the battle near the end but he seemed to slip back again.  I enjoyed the combo, was a bit boring and I have to admit a bit sterile feeling after NKpro's 1600, but then again the FBM has down force. :g:

I didn't participate in this one. Did a few laps offline for testing early in the week and nearly fell asleep doing so.. very sterile combo IMO. I can't be there next Thursday, but I'll do a few races during the week hopefully. :)

obsolum

This was my first race on the dMr server in about a month. I didn't care for the combos that were on offer the past weeks. I didn't care much for this one, either, because it's indeed a bit boring, but I decided "last minute" that I'd join for the 1hr race just for fun and because it had been a while since I raced with you lot :)

I don't think I really overtook anyone, but I was in 5th for about the first half of the race I think, until Vobler and Ben passed me, which put me in 7th with a comfortable lead on the guy behind me. I was hoping to pass Ben again when he made his pitstop, but fate decided otherwise; I lost connection to the server about 45 minutes in  So no points for me, unfortunately.

Aquilifer

I didn't suffer discos during the qualifying, but it hit me just after finishing the first lap in race. I was in good place then. Had R1s and it looked like folks with R2 were having problems staying on the track.

I tryed to rejoin immediately but couldn't get in. :(

Amazing that someone managed to finish the race.

spoong

cueba11 has, it's been used in our office recently for a steward's inquiry (did I wipe out wildmanwild or did he wipe me out in L1?) :) so I'll get it from him and pass it on.

Doorman

:oops:Sorry  Kev, completely slipped my mind. It's in the downloads section now.
