It was a really fun race for me, but I was constantly having connection problems. I was on for at least 8th position had I not disconnected in the 36th minute. Very very frustrating, but fun while it lasted. I don't know if it was just me with strange lag issues; anyone else notice anything?

I did re-connect briefly, but after losing connection again I decided not to risk everyone else's connection.

Doorman

/smug mode on: Connection wise absolutely no problems whatsoever. :)
Race wise, enjoyed it despite not having driven LFS for a couple of weeks due to being held captive by nKP. What was a nice surprise was still being 3 seconds a lap off the pace. :lmfao:

I'm sorry to say, once you left everything was fine. :crying:

I enjoyed the race but crashed with a spinning guy in the first laps. (The guy that disconnected because he wasn't an endurance racer) Had to do an early pit stop to repair damages. (and Doorman hates early pit stops) Other than that I had a good race setting PB's and catching people. :boxing:

Be fair! I don't hate them if you HAVE to stop to repair damage. And really, I don't hate them at all. It just doesn't seem realistic. Let's face it, in a real race where pitstops are manatory do they pile in after lap 1? Roll on pit windows, that'll learn 'em! :norty:

I can understand why: I think my ISP is very ****ed off [annoyed] at me for downloading an 8gb file in one night. I don't think my limit goes that high so they probably stuck me in the cheap seats for a while.

Deetz

Well, what a cracking race. I could not believe that I was up there near the top of the leader board most of the time, mixing it with Manny etc.

It was really close the whole race, with the slightest mistake potentially costing a couple of places.

An incident just before the pit stops dropped me out of the fight for a podium position. (boo)    in the end I managed 5th.

  Great stuff.

Role on the next one. :yahoo:

Mille Sabords

My report, I really anjoyed the close racing and full grid provided by this combo.

I messed up quali (triying to go higher then 12FPS, rebooting, turning all graphics to minimum until I realised the nvidia whatever software had decided on its own to add a massive dose of AA+AF to LFS...my laptop can in no way cope with that!)
So started at the back with Obsolum.
I had decided to turn off ABS as a consistency challenge with high-ish brake force, and aparts from a few wide apexes it did not prove as horrible as I expected.

Good start, I was quickly in the pace and working u the grid. I passed Oldbloke and tried to increase pace to pull away - I was mid pack at this time, even got a new pb.
Then I missed a braking point (last turn) and downshifted fast, trying to blip to still make the turn. I unfortunately slipped the 1st gear in and released the clutch (should use shifter, but I'm too lazy to install it...) resulting in a spin and collision, sorry again Oldbloke.

After that I realised I had engine damage, so even in the slipstream I was not able to keep up in the straight. I lost more positions and ended up fighting with Obsolum for 15 minutes, catching up in the chicane and losing ground in the straight, pushing hard all the time to stay in contact.

Excellent fun, very immersive frustrating feeling with the damaged engine and clean fights with a full grid. Well done all, especially the fast ones for lapping me cleanly :yahoo:.

It felt like that while watching it.

Reading Mille's post I can honestly say that I wasn't even using the test patch so I didn't have the oppotunity to use mah ABS. I wonder how many people were... :flirty:

Romus

The first few laps were funny because constant lags. DeeSliders car was most of the time invisible, only occasionally appeared here and there. Once I already beleived I had left him behind, but in the corner he was inside just beside me. I already thought of giving up because it looked like it would end ustwo crashing and destroing the race for others as well. I kept on going because I really wanted to finish the race and get back to business.

After a few laps I seemed to be in a group of Deetz, Manny, Venca and the norwegian guy. That caused me to have some sort of an identity crisis - what was I doing among these guys?

The rest of the race I concentrated on the chicane, I tried to find the hair thin balance through it, and at least once came pretty close to good performance. The last corner was also interesting.

Thanks to all participants. It was a great night.

Seany

Seriously competitive combo this one. You know the race was good when you cant remember the battles you had.....because there where too damn many of them! :D All I know is I had some rare ol' ding dongs with Ben and Aquilifer from start to finish, excellent racing guys, cheers.

Didn't make any major cock-ups myself, but I did really struggle with that left/ right chicane.  No matter how much I pulled away on the rest of the track, I would always loose ground at that section.

Great racing, and well done to the winners :)

I loved this one, and had a most enjoyable battle with Doorman - although it did let Vobler catch us both... ;)  And it will be my last race with the early pit. :)  I hereby state that I won't pit before L10 in 1hr races any more...

LRT finished top two in the dMr event!

Legends Racing Team’s Tommy Østgaard and Kenneth O’Keefe did participate in dead man’s racing’s weekly event in week five in the combo XRG/AS2. None of them was well prepared, and Tommy Østgaard did not even know that there was an event before 5 minutes until the qualification started, but they were going to do what they could. Kenneth O’Keefe had a very good setup (which he sent to Tommy of course) and they did very well in the qualification. Kenneth O’Keefe finished 1st on an incredible 1:21.57, only0.220 sec behind the world record! Tommy Østgaard finished 3rd with a 1:21.97 while the privateer Manny finished second between the two LRT drivers with a 1:21.77. (The top three ended with 7 in their best lap^^)

Kenneth O'Keefe won the qualification!

The lights turned red. Tommy knew that he had to get past Manny very quick if he should have a chance at finishing second. The race format could be decided on the first lap. Kenneth was supposed to push from the start and try to get some space down to Tommy. The lights turned green! Manny tried to pass Kenneth on the outside in T1 while Tommy was right behind Kenneth. Kenneth came out of T1 in front of Manny and Tommy side by side! Tommy was some millimeters behind Manny who had the inside line for the next corner. Manny was in front but was nearly drifting in the chicane, and Tommy tried to pass on the inside but they both got a spin, and Deetz took the second place with Manny and Tommy right behind. Tommy passed Manny in the last turn and was 3rd while they moved out on lap number two. They kept driving like this nearly the whole race. Tommy was second and got some space by one second some times in the race, but Manny managed to catch it up again.

Tommy Østgaard is doing what he can do hold Manny behind him.

They kept driving like this nearly the whole race. Tommy blocked and did everything to keep the driver(s) behind. Kenneth O’Keefe was just pushing from the rest of the field and no one could ever challenge him for the 1st place. Tommy Østgaard finished second just in front of Manny who finished 3rd. Legends Racing Team got top 2 which was their goal. A very good and tactical race!

We want to thank everyone who participated in the race and Dead men’s racing for arranging the race.

No one did ever have a chance against Kenneth who drove the race alone in front.

LRT finished 1st and 2nd.
