Sean, re our conversation this evening. Try this profile for rFactor and netKarPro. Both of these games seem to need faster responses than LFS.

Also, try setting the trackir process, via task manager fx, to real time priority, or just below that. It really makes a difference.

Btw - anyone here who has tried the TrackClip PRO?

:g: I've tried that in the past and couldn't detect a difference and I've just had another go...still can't see a difference. How does it make a difference?

No, not I, anyway.

Well, in GTL it did. The response time, from when you moved the head, until the reaction happened in-game, was big. In Flight Simulator it also helps a little bit. Feels quicker.

Edit: btw I've just done an hour or so in LFS today and I felt no need at all to up the priority. LFS has a very good TrackIR implementation, perhaps?

That'll be it then. :) I can't feel any change in rFactor either. Incidentally, I half expected to see you make a return to rF+GTL given how keen you were on it. :)

rF is downloading albeit very slow :)

Cheers doors, I think the reason I couldn't get it working was because I wasn't running rFactor as Admin in Vista.  I have yet to try it though.  I tested running Rfactor as admin last night but it didn't pick up any of my profiles or the HistoryX mod.  It seems that if you run it as nonadmin it uses the profiles and settings from Mydocuments/rfactor, but if your run as admin it uses the profiles from C:/games/rfactor.

Some thing to do with Vista's UAC (User account control) I'll bet.  I had thought I had gotten around any interference from UAC by installing my games in c:/games rather than c:/Programfiles(86)/games.

Ho hum ill figure it out eventually :)

Seany

My assumptions where indeed correct :). I just copied everything from MyDocuments/rFactor to C:/games/rfactor and ran as admin and it picked up the HistoryX mod and my settings. This in turn has caused TrackIr to start working perfectly in rfactor.  Can't believe I forgot to run as Admin , this isn't the first game that I've had this prob with. :D

Now I can have a go of your profile Ron, cheers again.

Ah Vista, say no more. (largely because I didn't understand a word of what you said before! :lmfao:)
