Quote from: TeaLeaf;286311We really should get the comps projected up onto a big screen if we have this many people coming along. We'll need to plan the PC that does this, maybe even getting the server to do it by adding a cheap gfx card (if it does not already have one). The projector resolution need not be high so it would not need a top end card to handle that duty.

Networking - I'll leave you people to sort this but it might be worth doing another cable purchase run - we still have some left over from last time, but you never know!

I think Toby said he has a projector he can bring.

regarding the LAN cables,  Toby sent a pm regarding the LAN cables which I sent on to you TL.

here's a precis of it:

Last LAN Gandy and I spent sometime making cat6 cables and while it was an interesting experiment which worked. I think that we came to the decision to get ready made cables for this coming LAN.

I just thought that you should be aware of this.  If you want me to source this cables I am happy to do this.

Let me your thoughts.

Can you please have a wee look in the cable box. IIRC and from the last discussion, we bought 15 x 10m yellow cables and a load of 5m ones. The 10m ones were for the switches IIRC

We should still have those. Can you please see how many of the smaller ones we have.

I also can't remember what we did with the older Cat5 cables. Thinking about it I know Smilodon took the old switches.

Also, did we DOA the switch that was knackered. I know someone mentioned it the BBQ but I can't remember what you said <--- hospitality was too good

I can bring the projector no problems.

Re the cables, just wanted to make sure cause the cable making soaked up quite a lot of time.

I'll try to drag out the box from deep storage int he garage somewhere and check cables today.  And I have a horrible feeling I may not have RMA'd the duff switch yet - I'll go find out.
