I"ve been practicing:D I can actually make a lap now, sometimes, if the stars align, and a wolf howls at a half moon on a Wednesday afternoon.:roflmao:

 Best time so far in a Capri 2600 is 9:15sec
Do you want to be my "Friend"?:winkiss:

Do you mean version or configuration? Version as per the link, 2.2a. Or maybe the question was directed at Todd. I suspect he was on the tourist config.

 Yup I wasn't on the same track as you guys so my time isn't that great:)
Will try a few more times this week. Problem being that online there isn't much time to do more than one lap before sesion switches.
 So I'll stick to offline practice for now.
 Also which cars are you guys running. This track is OK by yourself but will be way more fun in a pack.:woot2:

Do you know the way to San Jose? No, not San Jose, the way to shortcut to a timed lap? At the part where you leave the GP circuit, bear right and you go though the start finish line. Or on the Tourist track pass through the gate that say 'Start here for timed lap'

Hehehehe  No I didn;t know that:)

Thanks Doors that will make it a bit easier to get a lap in:yahoo:

I must ask, did you change the track grip? As sadly, default value for the Tourist track is 0.90 which would be 10% less then what should be normal.

I want to point out that if did decrease Cadwell grip by 13%, we should do the same with The Ring, increase it by 10% (well not really same thing :D)

Is there anything rF related that you don't know, lovretta? :)

You heard the man, everyone edit their files and increase the grip by 10%. Chop chop :flirty:

EDIT: maybe the set the grip a tiny bit lower because irl the quality of the road surface of the 'Ring is actually quite bad?

The value also differs between the different configurations, for example the "normal" Tourist file says 0.925 for RoadDryGrip, while the "fall" version says 0.900.

No. I know everything. :lmfao:

I don't know many things... The questions you have were bugging me also in the beginning, thats why i know stuff like that... :)

Well the only thing to do IMO would be to open the Ring_Terrain.tdf

and look for this bunch of lines:

// Roads Ring
[FEEDBACK]
Dry=1.0 Wet=0.70 Resistance=0.0 BumpAmp=0..........................

-and set Dry=1.0 (default is 0.9)

I wouldn't touch the Fall grip, as it is lowered to simulate somewhat damp track during the fall, as is winter tdf there to simulate snowy track...

When asked about where are the fans graffiti which as you all see are all over the track, Simbin said that track was recently resurfaced. That of course was question about their version of ring, made as part of GTR Evolution addon package for race...

But that tells us that there is no reason to think that ring asphalt is really bad, just think of it, almost every car maker that has some sort of high performance model in production, be it a sports car, super sport car or hot hatch is doing some or some more tests at the ring. I doubt they would accept doing it on worn out asphalt.
