I am on my 2 week Hols at the moment, so I have not gone for the beta as Mrs. Arm may not look kindly at me spending our quality down time gaming. But I see a few of you have, So what do you think? should I start getting excited?

sheepy

its very pretty, game play is pretty good.

still a few rough edges but thats what you expect from a beta - ie im getting some clipping while running.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Enjoyed it so far.

Graphics way better than WoW.
Flight is fun although I have little experience of how to use it in combat yet.
Mailing stuff is expensive.
Professions system is better than WoW - you can learn everything and level everything.
Auction House/Broker system is expensive and lack of addons make it a highly variable experience.  How much is a widget?  Nah, I don't know either so put it on for 1,000,000 Kinah.
Use of Kinah is daft when people refer to one thousand as 1K.
Chanters are seriously slow to level.  They really are 'buff others' beasts, very little direct fire power themselves.

Pro Tip:  Level your gathering skills on herbs and ore before you are a Daeva.  You'll use the collacted items when you initially level your crafting in Sanctum.

Enjoying it so far and with a guild I suspect it would be even more fun.

After loads of problems installing the Beta, I got a download finally on Friday-evening (a bit of help and directions from b00n), taking up what normally would be my CSStime.
Finally got to play it at 02.30 in the morning and was on untill 04.30. For the rest I've played Sunday the whole day and got to level 15 I believe.

My thoughts;
It reminded me a bit of Oblivion-The elder scrolls but way better.
Some quests are a bit difficult/vague but doing a bit of strawling around seems to be the way.
Got to say that I didn't see anyone with a DML-tag on the server where I was so I must have picked the wrong server.
I had a warrior btw and must say that he had some cool skills although on one point I couldn't seem to get anymore new tricks. It might have been that I was just looking at the wrong place.

Ahwell, I still had good fun and as I hadn't played an MMO in a while it was more about checking the sceneries (some really nice ones I must say) and doing some quests.

I might even play this with you lot!

DarkAngel

Played around a bit, did enjoy the priest class the most although seems slow to level up. Still have not made my mind up if i will buy it, i quit wow some time ago and not sure if i want to play another mmo.

I was impressed by the graphics, and i actually enjoyed running around exploring/fighting and listening to the relaxing music of the world.

The game is a mix between wow and guild wars and seems more social and less demanding on real life.

DuVeL

I had the server and side written down so I could hopefully bump in to anyone of you while gaming. But as it was still in Beta it wasn't up.

Got to say that some places were still a bit laggy.

I just had a good read about Aion, you can download the PDF here; GamerzinesLink

I don't think that realm exists anymore?

[ENG] Telemachus seems to be bottom of the list so might have least kids on (on the basis that most kids get bored easy and won;t read down that far).

Now that we could play for a while i would like to vent my good and bad things a bit.

the good:
- looks very good
- the campaign quests give you a good sense of the atmosphere and the story.
- the abyss Great place to team up and well done story wise
- defined class rolls (something i think wow lacks these days)
- Easy to get into

the bad:
- queues (though they are gettling lower)
- When you get in the inability to find groups for your quests.. (great after a long queue)
- The abyss (alone you are dead)
- An upper level cap for instances ( means finding a group is even harder)

That is all i can think off at the moment. Will update this when i think of more.

My personal opinion as it stands now is into the negative. After a (long) queue you get into a situation where you are not part of the mainstream group anymore and getting parties together for quests seems impossible ( 3 days trying which gave a party for 1 quest). Then you get into the abyss and you are dead fast and you are back at step 1. I really hope this changes soon because the game has potential, but i will not be around for another month if this keeps on going.

sheepy

i have cancled my subscription, ill be giving it a few more goes untill my free time pays out but at the moment im doubting that im going to be playing this constantly, I think its the SEVERE lack of being able to progress solo and having to find people to party with that has dulled my optimism of this game, it so far seems VERY small - in comparison to wow vanilla. The fact that you have to do all the quests to be able to progress is not a problem in its self but coupled with the way the quests work i feel is a problem.
