CardioTrainer
It works great and the race against your old times is fun. The version has some Hero-problems, but they are working on them.

QuoteCardioTrainer is your training partner for running, cycling,  hiking, and other cardio fitness activities.
Features in v1.4.0:
* Real-time pedometer-guided GPS
* Trainer voice output
* Records path, climb, pace, calories & uploads to website
* Race against your previous tracks(premium)
* Autopause
* Music integration

Droid48
I have always been a fan of the HP48's RPN way of calculating, mostly because it beats the **** out of other calculators with respect to speed and the logical way of stacking calculations.

Wireless Tether
Turns your phone into a wireless router with 128 WEP. Not the best encryption, but then again, the range is not as high as a normal router and I use it in the train etc. Note that it sucks quite a bit of power (but not as much as an active GPS) and the phone does run a bit hot when you have 2-3 wireless devices connected. You can also configure it to tether to laptops via bluetooth. Albeit slow, it can be handy because you can then share a wifi connection in reach with a PC that has no wifi.

The phone has to be rooted. My experience is that this has something to do with the way the program needs to access the wifi connection, i.e. with more rights.

SwiFTP
A basic, well-functioning FTP-server for your phone. I have used it mostly for remotely arranging files on the phone. Perhaps this can be done better with SMB-applications, but this is so light and quick to set up that I keep using this.

RemoteVNC
A VNC-client. Remote control your desktop from your phone. It works fine, but if you have a large desktop to remote control on the small screen you end up dragging a lot. Not something to work from, but nonetheless a way for me to support my mum when she doesnt know what to click, when I am not near a PC. I noticed that there is some SSH-applications out there as well. Link is to a list of remote applications.

What do you use?
