My short race report there :)

It was probably a bad day for racing...
Boss message close to quali start meant I missed qualifications, so started last on the grid.
I sneaked through cars easily until the chicane (a lot went off through T1 and others were a bit too careful), then settled into a fight with Lameduck around midfield.
That was a promising start!
He got the right line in the straight, so I braked for T1 trying to maximise corner exit speed and have a run in the back straight, but it never happened.
A car (obviously, not a meteorite) hit my right rear tyre, spending me in the sandtrap and stuck facing the wall with no reverse :(

Reset, stop and go, and I was around 45 seconds behind the pack...
Easyed was even further behind with hardware issues and decided to leave, so I typed a goodbye on the straight and spinned into the pits barrier... LFS decided I could not safely reset, and Ario decided I was idle for too long and spectated me. Smell of conspiracy!

Slightly disappointed as it was a promising combo. Congrats to finishers!

Overall it was a great night of racing, though in the race I could not be consistent and made a few mistakes. Qualification went well with the real killer mentality, but in the race I had to be careful and could not get so deep in the "mood". Because of inability to concentrate things like Aerio messages distracted me even more.

Funny thing was when I slowed down to let a car pass me. I thought it was Sean and I wanted to let him go becase I had just crashed to the wall and got small problem with suspension; I did not want to fight with a car that could be unstable near the limit. But I did not recognize that it was Jamin who got blue flags because of me slowing down. We were both approaching the T1 and I was braking to let "Sean" go first, but no matter how much I slowed down he just refused to go first. I was hitting "right view" button and was amazed of seeing him stubbornly staying behind. I said "go" over Ventrilo and Jamin answered something. Then he said he was under blue flags. I said that I did not see the flags. Only later on I realized how stupid that was.. :roflmao:

Excellent night of racing after all. I must get more of this.

Cheers for a nice week and a good, final race with that combo. A fast and simple combo, yet with a couple of tough corners to get right.

This was my first 1 hour race in 3 years and I had forgotten how tough that was, especially after 2 hours prior, desperately trying to break into the 1.14s (and failing, ending on 1.15.48 I think it was).

I think I started 8-9th on the grid out of 11 and ended up somewhat the same, so I held my position fine. I managed to get a really good start and nailed a couple in T1, but was simply not fast enough and slowly lost places. I hardly did sub 1.16s, which frustrated me, since I felt quite in the "zone" and doing a strong portion of my first sections under 34 seconds (33.75 was my best I think).

I managed to avoid causing any crashes, and avoiding having one - although CrazyR1 kept nudging me so many times I let him pass for my own safety :narnar:

I have no idea how this represents the typical 1 hour race, if there even is a such, but I noted the professionalism with fast! pit stops, few crashes and overall polite driving. The driver nicknamed "joe" especially was exceptionally kind and considerate

No wonder texting while driving is illegal  But man, that conspiracy just sucks

Well, no hardware issues ..... my 2 sons usually get home from school just before race time, and knowing about Thursday race time, they leave me alone.  But yesterday, one of them had several "problems" needing attention beginning while I'm on the start line.  Got that stuff dealt with during the first couple laps, but then I did myself in trying the inside line side-by-side with Jamin going into the fast chicanne.  Hit the left curbing wrong and spun right across the track in front of Jamin - fortunately missing him!.  Next lap, hit the right curbing wrong there and spun again.  Went into pit to repair damage ... speeding in pit lane.  Getting back on the track, I was not far from being lapped and wondering if it was time to throw in the towell ..... when my son comes down and says the Fed-Ex guy is here and I need to sign for delivery (of his new pc) ......

It was cool to see so many 1:14s for qualify .... and a really good turnout.

Getting in the XFG later in the evening felt a bit like hopping on the back of a whale .... I definitely have a love/hate relationship with the MRT :norty:

Good race for me.  Qualified 4th and got promoted to third due to that guy from china (3am :D) leaving before the race.

Got off to a good start, bit of heavy compression into t1 but I think nearly everyone survived.   Then I had a great race with Dee for about ten laps for 3rd place, swapping positions every lap at one point.  I made a brief excursion onto the grass after the chicane o' doom, held it together but gave Dee the break he need to escape my grasp :D.  I then settled down for a calm and collected drive home for forth place. However, complications for Romus advanced me to a step on the podium.  When I heard you telling me to "go ahead" I was frantically checking my mirrors and scanning around me 'till I realised the confusion :).

Great race, combo.  Well done Dee and Cueball. :yahoo:  Unlucky to those affected by Ario and Discos :/.  In hindsight we probably should of disabled Ario, I totally missed the fact that the Idle spectate and no reset due to Yellow flag could cause problems.  Oh well, we know for next time.

Lameduck

:yahoo: Cracking racing Grommit. :yahoo:
Qualification saw a re-emergent Romus, fresh from his summer? hibernation on 1:14.68 and the next 5 drivers all under 1.15. The whole field was covered by about 1.5 seconds. Competitive or what?  Xia (from China) dropped out as it was 3.30am for him and time for bed!! So I was promoted to 5th on the grid with a respectable 1.14.99.:D

We had a long hold but a good start and everything went swimmingly until T1:sideways:. Cueball did his usual Kamikaze, outbraking Romus causing Sean to brake very hard, was tapped by Dee, who was tapped by me, who was tapped by the newly wed (CrazyR1)
Honeymoon, what honeymoon?
Fortunately I was shot onto the inside kerb and somehow Easyed managed to miss me. Brilliant, down to lucky 13th  after one corner, but did not lose too much time, so I placed my basket in a more convenient place.
On the next corner, Joe was the first to fill it, strangely disappearing to the right for no discernable reason. 12th
I had a good run to turn 3? (Left/Right at the end of back straight) and managed to get past Mille but outbraked myself into the hairpin and tapped Oldie (sorry again) letting Mille back in front. 11th. Millle and I had a long side-by-side drag over the start line and down to T1, where common sense prevailed and he kindly let me through to 10th.
On the next lap I managed to catch up with a trio of drivers, Evan, Easyed and Jamin.
Evan went wide and wobbly around T1 9th  and on turn 3 Easyed did a grass clip, a 540 and reversed into the tyres 8th. (or in his case, tires).
Lap 5 and Andy had spin at the same corner 7th.  Basket getting full.:D
I was then behind Ben and Delanvital for a couple of laps until I had good drive out of T1 and nipped inside Ben.  6th. I managed to get past Del a couple of laps later, out-dragging him down the main straight. 5th
Try as I might, I could not make inroads into the top 4 and settled down to maintaining  the pace without incident until the hairpin on lap 24 when I hit 2nd gear instead of 3rd and the thing snapped onto grass, recovered and pitted. Andy, Del and Evan went past, so I was back to 8th.
Shortly after Romus lost it in T3 and sustained damage and he was forced into an extended pit stop, enabling Sean, Crazy, Del, Evan and myself to go through.7th.
Andy pitted, so up to 6th
I had a great battle with Evan for several laps until he blew it again at T3, 5th leaving me about 6 seconds behind Del. I managed to whittle down his advantage to about 2secs when he pitted. 4th already.:yahoo:
I calculated there were about 6-7 laps left and I was some 20 seconds behind Sean, so barring a miracle I had no chance of improving, so I settled down to keeping it on the grey bits till the end.
Well done to the podium guys, Dee, Cueball and Seany who finished, after one hours racing within 10 seconds and thankyou to all who finished behind me :flirty:
Bad luck on Slider who was having connection problems and to Mille who paid the price for being polite.
Thanks also to Oldie for sacrificing his quali time to try and sort out the reset option.:D

Please do not feed the obsolum
