Even better turn out this week:D
Quali was a disaster as I coudn't come within a second of my PB.
Congrats to all on negotiating the T1 &  chicane on lap one. Not a tap:)
On lap 3 lost the backend in the chicane trying to go through side by side with Verner. Mission impossible. Handling seemed off so I entered the pits next lap with damage 'on'. In and out in 4 secs. Caught up with the Bike and after a few laps I managed to sqeeze past. After that I didnt see a soul until Venca lapped me. P1lot had the decency to pit when he was about to do the same and I managed to keep it all together til the end.
For me a very boring race, but from comments on Vent, there were some good battles going on.
Reports please
Congrats to all who finished.

Bob the Bike

Had good Qualifier finishing on same time as Oldie for a PB.
Lap 1, Hung back a bit hoping to pick up the pieces in the chicane, But all went through fine.  lap 17 had oldie behind me, and had a few laps with him then I went wide at the last turn caught the kerb and bounced off it straight back into him causing damage, Sorry, maybe I should have let you through as you had pitted and I hadnt so you were actualy miles in front of me.  My race went downhill from there.  A lot faster than I used to be,  but too many mistakes made times inconsistant and a few spins.  Got passed by all.  ( Most twice ). So apologies to all, particularly Easy Ed who I managed to knock off with a tyre when I went wide in the last part of the chicane.

Jamin

Qualified at the back of the 34s with only .4 secs between 2nd and 9th, I had a good start and passed a few in turn one, caught up with Mille but during a panic heavy braking into turn one I dropped down to first gear trying to avoid Mille, I tapped him around (sorry Mille) and after it seemed down on power as I was changing gear a bit later than usual, I tried to make up for it in by carrying more speed into the corners but messed up a bit and eventually Romus, Somebody and Sean caught and passed me.

A good combo for the week but the race was bit of a yawner, I did manage to overtake Somebody in the weekly champ table to win by one point though :)

Mille Sabords

I pulled a decent lap in quali despite my lack of practice this week, and started around 5th.

I was a bit cautious as my setup had obvious flaws with low temperature tyres, but kept the gap with the leading pack around 2 seconds.
I noticed a Jamin slowly catching up, and was getting ready for a good fight - did not happen.
During a T1 braking he tapped my rear (nothing serious, only a touch) but that was sufficient to send me into a spin :(
I waited for the pack to pass and came out 15th.
I was a bit faster than the cars ahead so I started working my way up the grid, good fights for a while.
Pitted at the 40 minutes mark, and then went after Cueball who was 2 seconds ahead, running low 1:35s, 2-3 tens slower that I was.
I caught up but RL jumped in (one of the kids had a bad nightmare, I did not hear - headphones - but still heard my not so pleased wife when she came back :))
After that discussion I did no succeed in getting back into the race, concentration lost. I reached the finish line, enough of a challenge!

Congrats to the finishers, and excellent combo - I like this car. I hope the next physics update will allow me to get rid of the silly locked diff though.

Romus

I enjoyed my race a lot, for once it was hard racing from start to finish. I had not really found the feeling for this combo before the qualification, but managed to do a nice PB. I was hoping to keep improving, but I did not dare to take any risks in the race and did not take the necessary slips over the limit to find out where the limit actually is, so I was driving with a decent speed and tried to keep Jamin, Seany and Somebody behind. In the end Somebody took his deserved 6th position, thanks to his very fast pit stop and consistent driving.

I don't remember another dMr race where I could feel the threat of another racer all the time in my back. A great race!

What are you saying? That we're all slowpokes? :sideways:

Just kidding ;-)

Hello, i know i rarely put some toughts on the forum, but i will this time... (sorry for my Swenglish...)
This race (fight) was really one of the best so far.
Had a lot of nice races during the week. But i expected to be a midracer this week, and i was right.
The start went fine, and i was battling with Romus, Jamin and Sean.
The battle was not so much an battle, as it was an chase and be chased-race... :-)
Romus, Sean, Jamin and myself, had a great race for the whole hour.
I felt i was alittle bit faster then the rest, as long they where a bit in front of me. (battling eachother for places)
But as soon as i reached the one in front of me, i did some mistakes at tha chicane.
Then they pitted,(half race goned), and i was in the lead... (just the battle for us in the 6-7-8 place...)
i did some "good" laps high 1.34's-low 1 35's. So i hoped that would be enough to come out after the pitstop, at least in the middle of that pack.
To my surprise, i went out in front of them all. My practice at pitstopping had done what it should been.
I must say, "winning" the battle with Romus, Jamin and  Sean, was like the feeling to won the whole race... :-)
And it was a very, " Kul Rejs..."
I did win some rally-circuit, some weeks ago, but i rank this weeks results, much higher.... :-)
And a big MoooOOooOooo, to you all... :-)

Wery well done mate! :yahoo:

Seany

Nice report somebody.  It was indeed an action packed race with very competitive times right across the grid.  I qualified in tenth position, behind Ben, and got straight in to the previously mentioned battle with Ben, Romus and Somebody.  I was chasing some one down and being chased down for pretty much the entire race, first in a long time that has happened and it was great.

I was hanging on to Romus' coat tails for the first couple of laps then Romus got ahead of Somebody so he was my new target. Up to 9th after Mille's mishap. This compressed myself, Somebody, Romus and Ben and it was on for young and old :D.  This continued for the next 5 laps or so, and with Cueball growing bigger in my mirrors I had to have a go, so I got up the inside of Somebody after the back straight for 8th place with Ben ahead of me.  This wasn't very comfortable as I knew that Somebody was alot quicker than me and kept waiting for him to make a counter attack.  But I actually pulled away a bit, with our gap closing and widening on different parts of the track.  Reading your report Somebody, it sounded like you had the exact same problem that I get alot.  I can gain on some one, but when I get close I start to make mistakes from watching the car ahead too much instead of just ignoring them :).

I then began to gain on Ben who had his engine problems.  I tried a couple of unsuccessful pass manoeuvres but this just allowed Somebody to gain lost ground, so I held my position until the half way pitstop.  I rejoined in 12th position behind Steve, who very graciously let my passed, too much pressure :norty: ? Cheers, but if ever you feel like making me work for it, go right ahead, I never expect anyone to just move over. :)

I continued round, trying to keep the fast laps going so I could remain with the other three blokes after their pitstop.  After all our stops where done I was in 8th with Ben behind, Romus ahead and Somebody leading the charge.  Excellent driving Somebody, As I said on the night, I knew you had some more pace hidden there somewhere :D.

For the last few laps it looked as though I might be able to 'ave Romus, we had a nice little battle, but it wasn't to be.  I finished 8th.

Well done to Venca, Pilot and Deetz :yahoo:

And many thanks to Ben, Romus and Somebody for the best long race in ages. :boxing:
