Doorman

Wrestled my way round to a creditable last place, qualifying with a pb. Then wouldn't you know, Oldie and Vobler snuck in behind me. :g: Dodgy tactics if you ask me. :flirty:
First few laps were very good. A cracking three way, then four way tussle. At one point I was the head of a Doorman train but Vobler came through when we caught up to BtB. Oldie clung on to Vobs shirt tails and got dragged through as well... I tried to hang on but it was a lost cause. Bob's little love tap put the lid on it. From then on it was a lonely existence with the only goal being to keep it on the island.
Finished, not lapped, made a few pbs. I'll count that a success. :D
Well done the winner (I presume it was Venca :))

I always enjoy racing the XRT, its one one of my favourite LFS cars.

The race: Started 3rd behind Somebody and chased him all race.  Seany had worked his way up and came close to me at times. The closest was just after I had pitted at around 41 minutes, my out-lap was a little messy with the rear sliding away under braking, Seany had already stopped and was now breathing down my neck looking to make a pass.  Fortunately I found my groove and Seany made some small errors and dropped back.  In the last few laps I was making good time, did a pb and closed right up to Somebody, but he stayed as cool as a cucumber, kept his line, and his 2nd place.

Well done Some, and everyone else for taking part.

Mille Sabords

I loved this car and combo but never really found out how to setup the car / drive in the second sector of the track.
I refused to use a locked diff with stubbornness, but I do not think it cost me as much time as in the xrg. I prefer not to think it may have been the cause of above described problem.

Quali: Very close times, I ended up mid grid with a 3:26 but the times were suprisingly close for such a long track (except for Venca flying away).

Race: Nice fights, until the 25 minnutes mark when I put at least 1 too many wheels out of the grey thing in T1. Special thanks to Romus for the 1/2 lap side by side no crashing moment :D

After that I pushed (too) hard to catch up and made a few mistakes, the last one sending me into a sandbox meditating quietly (read: cursing silently while keeping a smile on my face, wife working on the other side of the table ;))

I incidentally tried ABS on with 1200Nm brakes, felt good not locking up but this will require practice to be able to brake later, as Lameduck and Vobler could well see.

Congrats to Venca for one more faultless run, and Dee / Somebody for an entertaining battle in the last laps of the race!

Yeah, they where nice those first laps. Nice to see you in LFS again for a change Ron!

I got in too late for qually so I ended up in the back. After a few laps I managed to get past Doors, Oldie and BTB. I was behind drivefaster a while, but he crashed out. Then I had BOD3K and Lameduck a few seconds in front of me. Mid race I was on Lameducks tail but could not get an attack in, so I had to stay there until he made a small mistake in the chicane and I managed to make a pass on the straight. Good race! :D

Lameduck

Good turn out again (15) :)
Did a reasonable qualy lap (8th) and decided that was enough for this combo. Just didnt feel comfortable all week. Top up tanks, fuel and wine.
Steady start and settled down in 10th. Verner was closing all the time but managed to hold him off for several laps. Mille was charging back and forth like a demented chicken threatening 'my' point until he decided to make sandcastles. Tenth looked safe until Ben 'baled out':roflmao: so 9th it was. :D

Romus

Again a nice race. I'm getting comfortable with the H-gate shifter. I don't think I had any misshifts in this nor in the last weeks 1h races. But I've been losing a couple of places because of slow starts this and last week. Have to check what's the problem there.

This race, like the previous one, has something happening almost all the time and it made one hour feel like half an hour. After a few laps I was chasing Mille and Jamin (you seemed to have good racing) then had a nice short fight with Mille, but he went to grass, so Jamin became my target. I almost went wide in the last chicane after passing him because I was clicking the left view button and started braking a bit too late. Jamin went to pits, and I decided to do my stop the next lap, to continue the good battle we were having. Did you have to repair the car or change tires? If not, then your lap after the stop was relatively slow, because the gap between us had gotten bigger when I came out of the pits.

Then the final part of the race was funny. After the pit stop I was feeling phlegmatic and was just cruising and waiting for race to finish. Then Jamin woke me up by asking me to push "a bit" faster :D. I'll do what I'm told to do, so I put the madness mode on, grabbed the wheel properly, and made a nice new PB, but there was not much else to achieve in the race, Seany was already too far away, so I calmed down and finished 5th.
