Screen Resolution Problem

So my CS 1.6 kept crashing so I decided to up play with the screen resolution settings from within options.  I upped it to 1280x(whatever) and apparently that is out of range for my monitor.  So now I am left with Out Of Range and I can no longer see my CS 1.6.  I can hear it.

Anybody got any ideas how to change the screen resolution manual within a config file???  If so which one and how??

Haha!! Success!!

I found a solution, you just need to launch the games menu in steam and then right click on the game and go into properties then click on lanch options then type in "-w 800-h600"
