Luna is up for disc healing .. im trying to help but know next to nothing on the subject at the mo
 
Tips welcome as all i know so far..............  they are a boss target mitigation machine while playing whack a mole with bubbles

Depends on the fight tbh as to how they heal.  First issue though is that disc & holy gear differs.  So a holy priest is not ideally geared for the disc role and vice versa.

Disc tends to be useful where the boss damage is large & spiky.
Disc is hopeless at light AOE damage.
Disc is excellent for absorption/mitigation healing with the bubble (like Anub or Patchwerk).

I'd suggest Luna reads up on the spec first to see if he would like it.  It is a distinctly different style of healing and he might not like it.
