I've just bought OA and have run through the training missions etc. Do I need to download any maps? Also what's the easiest way to get onto the server, HLSW, in game server admin ???

Welcome mate, right first off use the in game server browser click remote and stick the server info in.  

Maps will be downloaded when we join the game.  Be on TS I will be on 19:30 and we do a quick run through any questions.

If you can try getting the digital compas running.  Check out sticky post above.

Great stuff:D

Probably your best bet is to get on TS and ask for the IP and type it in the "remote" box;
It'll be saved there for your next time on the server.
I find this the quickest way in:)

Cheers, it's far removed from the early days of Arma2. No crashes or bugs and I manager to stay alive as well. Thanks for the help lads I'll certainly be back for more.

Actually we did three missions. The first was to find some cars and escape from a town. I and Toby both got shot in the first few minutes so we dumped that map for a better (easier) one. The second map was a 'clear out the Taliban mission' and I was told to say behind Oldie, which I did. As a consequence he got shot first and I was able to run away and hide. On the second mission which was to clear an airfield of helicopters I was a medic. However not only did I not die, nor did anyone else. So that was no great achievement by me. I never even managed to get my sticky plasters out or anything.

Perfect technique. You would get bonus points, however, if you pretended to be dead whilst hiding to deter team-mates from bugging you for help.
