EDIT: Like a fool I gave it one last try. It gets to a loading screen the dumps me back to the aircraft carrier start screen.

It's coding was done by the people who did L4D I'm sure of it.

Ron, can you dish out your Steam friends thingys, we could see you but no-one has you on chat anywhere so we couldn't help...

I don't run Steam unless by accident. I was on TS, I thought you used that.

A very good point.....the in game comms has been ok recently.

Sorry it's been such a pita for you. I'll PM you my contact stuff and if you get stuck again or I see you joining repeatedly I'll jump into TS.

I managed to join another server with no problems. Mission files were downloaded, which I wasn't getting on ours. :g:

Well we had both flavours connecting to the server, DVD owners and Steam owners.

Here's a question, did you install the "BattleEye" software it prompted you about in the patch (well the DVD patch anyway), if not then that's what's kicking you off. It's an anti-cheat software thingy like 'Punk Buster'.

And the answer is no.

I ran the patch again but it stopped at 'you're already updated, dickhead' stage. A little Googling led me to find out you can access the BattlEye.exe by extracting the files from the 1.0.5.exe (that's the only way to install it btw)
I could waffle on for several pages but the end result is I got on the server.

ok....for the next trick. If you are seeing vsync issues...possibly one of these?

Sorry I dropped out but I couldn't respawn after being injured. Instead it was making me wait 500 seconds. I left, rejoined and it did it again as soon as I was shot :sideways:

If it was Hijack, you only get a limited amount of respawns. After that you are a spectator even if you reconnect.

If you run out of lives it's because your team is not doing their job with revives. So I don't see a problem:flirty:
