Le Rouge

can't see it as am out of UK; what is it about?
"Even in a justified war, only one place there is for the dead; if someone loses - it\'s only you. Prime Ministers leave without a scratch - when everything ends they mourn the people; but I want to live on and mourn them"
(free translation from a song by Hanoch Levin, 1968 )

Del, if you use Torrents at all, the two episodes have already been 'shared'

The Day of the Triffids is a rather famous novel by John Wyndham (mostly in Sci-fi literary circles).  Probably one of the most famous of the early (ish) Sci-fi (1950's onwards) books and influenced apparently by War of the Worlds.

Some rather famous personalities in this BBC adaption include Vanessa Redgrave and Eddie Izzard.

Read the Wikipedia articles above to find out more.

I thought it was OK for an adaptation and nicely brought it up-to-date and relevant for today.

I found the first one more dark (I guess it was in the early 80's ??) but ntl it was well worth a watch.

The first, old film has been public domain, but has since vanished. I am not certain it is in fact public domain or not, i.e. creative commons, but if anyone has imdb pro access they can check it out (let me know, I have some other stuff to check as well). Day of the Triffids is available on Youtube (mini series in parts). The 1962 movie is this.
