I get the occasional flickering black-screen problem, but it's rare and usually goes away after a few seconds.

Seems like DICE still have plenty that needs to be fixed, though...

I gave up on the in-game friends. It was broke at release and when I sent an invite the other person wouldn't see it so had to send an invite back and then it was fine, I managed to get a few added and then it lost them all. I gave up on it.

As far as the white screen thing goes, Graphics drivers might fix it. If it's all up to date, check any unusual hardware. Some games I played were giving me the strangest bugs that nobody knew was causing them. I unplugged my Waccom drawing pad and it worked. So check even seemingly unrelated things like webcams etc.

Perhaps I'm the lucky one then. My freinds has been solid since the last release. I haven't lost them since the early days. (luckily?)
 
There is still an issue with adding new friends as far as I can tell. I think it works best when you're both online.

My friends haven't disappeared, they just don't show up as online when they they actually are;
Invites don't work for me as well, either way.

i had the same issue blunt, sadly the only fix i found to it, was to delete the lowest friend on the list and reinvite him
